Green Tea & Matcha Powder
Certified Organic green tea and matcha powder gives this shampoo extra anti-oxidants plus a small boost of natural caffeine to encourage scalp circulation and hair growth. Green tea is made from fresh, dried tea leaves, which results in a higher concentration of antioxidants, such as epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG has many health benefits, which includes reducing hair loss.* According to recent scientific studies, It appears that EGCG decreases hormone-induced hair loss by prolonging the androgen phase of hair growth and slowing the telogen phase, which leads to the shedding of hair.*

Lard is the 2nd fat in the world that is highest in Vitamin D3, second only to cod liver oil! Vitamin D3 is the most bioavailable form of Vitamin D. Vitamin D delivers a myriad of health benefits, including supporting healthy, long hair. As it turns out, Vitamin D3 is involved in various signaling pathways in the hair follicle and has a direct (and critical) role in the hair growth (aka anagen) phase. Topical application of vitamin D3 has been shown to render protection against damage caused to the skin by UV light. Buttermilk
Local, Raw, Farm-Fresh, Grass-fed, Hand-Cultured Buttermilk to feed your hair the perfect food – high in essential vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fatty acids. Full-fat Jersey cow buttermilk is higher than goat milk in lactic acid and has the same moisturization content. Babassu Oil
Certified Organic Babassu Oil provides an extra foamy lather to build mounds of thick bubbles. This makes cleansing your hair an easier task without using pore-clogging palm or coconut oils. Babassu oil also helps maintain the hardness of your shampoo soap while in use and makes the bar last as long as possible in wet environments.
Olive Oil
Certified Organic, Cold-Pressed, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil has been used for thousands of years to make the best soaps in the world and is one of the major components of our shampoo bars. Olive oil provides a rich, smooth, silky shine to hair shafts while also retaining a mild, gentle cleanse. Olive oil is unique in that it’s very moisturizing, but not heavy.
Castor Oil
Certified Organic, Hexane-Free Castor Oil has been used for centuries to help heal damaged skin while also restoring new hair growth.* Also known as the “Palm of Christ”, its many priceless uses have yet to be overshadowed by any other known oil. Castor oil also helps to provide a thick, robust, and stable lather, while additionally strengthening the hair shafts and reducing split ends.
Jojoba Oil
Certified Organic Golden Jojoba Oil is actually a type of liquid plant wax that is claimed to be very similar to our skin’s sebum, providing a light moisturization without clogging pores. Jojoba oil has been very useful for haircare professionals, lending extra shine, strength, and manageability to hair health.
Abyssinian Oil
Abyssinian Oil is very similar to Argan oil but shown to be better in some ways. From multiple scientific studies, Abyssinian oil has been shown to provide superior protection against hair breakage and heat damage in professional salon settings. Shine and manageability are also markedly improved when incorporating Abyssinian oil into one’s haircare routine.
Kaolin Clay
Kaolin Clay helps detox your hair from the daily grime and air pollution from modern day living while also soothing and nourishing the scalp with trace minerals. This natural earthen clay assists with dandruff and encourages hair growth as well. For shaving, it lends an extra silky-smooth experience, but if a nick does occur – it helps stop and repair bleeding quickly. Just lather our soap on the area you need to shave and shave as you would normally (full shaving directions here).
Mica Mineral Pigments
A very small amount of Cosmetic-Grade Mica Mineral Pigments helps each soap look unique and attractive in their own special color for a fun experience! This also lessens confusion between other soaps during use. Will not clog pores, or stain surfaces. This is the same main ingredient in natural cosmetic make-ups.
Fragrance Oils
Phthalate-Free and Paraben-Free Fragrance Oils are included for a familiar and comforting scent. Did you know that most body care shoppers make their purchase decisions based solely on scent satisfaction? The olfactory system is directly related to emotions and memories, which is why scents are such an important factor for many. Please keep in mind that not including phthalates and parabens will reduce the scent hold, decreasing the linger time and strength compared to what many are used to with store-bought products. Light-Medium SCENT INTENSITY
Gently scented with light notes of matcha green tea, fresh cucumber slices, aloe vera leaves, and a slight floral touch of sweet lily of the valley. This is a good unisex scent.

We recommend using within 1 year of first use for best results, as scents and contents fade and break down faster over time once disturbed.
On average, 1 shampoo soap will last most experienced users around 2 weeks of daily use, or about 14 hair washes on average.
Hair length, thickness, texture, and level of oil/grease/dirt to cleanse will affect this number. The longer, thicker, dirtier, and more textured your hair is, the more you will need to apply for a good wash. Another factor that will affect duration is if one is using the bar for more than just hair washing: for example, as a body soap and as a shaving soap in addition to a shampoo.
Another beginner’s adjustment is not properly washing (not applying and lathering enough), which causes soap residue in certain places and feels much like the detox symptoms. Here is our article about how to wash properly:

Furthermore, Perma-Earth LLC extensively tests their products in-house on their own limited personnel with their acknowledged consent. This shampoo leaves my hair nice and clean. The scent is ok – it is nice and light, kind of a spa like scent. It isn’t my favorite one I have tried so far, but it’s not bad by any means! It lathers nicely and leaves my hair clean, so I am happy with it. I will probably try some other scents from Perma Earth before I order this one again though. I would probably recommend this one to someone who likes light, spa scents as opposed to something more floral or fruity.

Not only does this bar have a lovely spa-like green tea scent, but it’s visually stunning as well. At first glance, the matcha color of it doesn’t have a WOW factor but as soon as it’s wet, it lights up with these beautiful sparkly flecks. I absolutely love this one and will buy it again

I have an “itchy scalp” (per my dermatologist) that leads to dandruff. Although diet and sleep and stress all play a role in how bad it is, certain shampoos from Perma-Earth seem to help keep it under control (assuming I wash every day). I’ve tried a bunch of different shampoos over the past couple of years from Perma-Earth to see what works for me. This one continues to be my absolute favorite! It seems to adequately nourish my scalp and keep my itchiness (and thus my dandruff) easily under control. Can’t recommend this one enough!

I’ve been using this shampoo bar for the last month daily. And I am in love! The scent is perfect. It’s so relaxing after a long day. I love how this shampoo bar is a softer bar and how squeaky clean and fresh it leaves my hair feeling. My hair feels so hydrated and I will definitely be keeping this in my rotation of daily shampoo bars.

This shampoo bar smelled a little more manly than unisex to me… but not so manly I didn’t use it. I guess it is unisex, I just prefer more girly scents for myself… I did really like it though. It smelled good. I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of the Perma Earth shampoo bars! I love all the different scents they offer, unscented, scented, EO, because there’s always something for everyone; and everyone’s mood.

This was my 2nd shampoo bar/scent I purchased. I used this one a couple times and I believe that my hair grew longer. I will be purchasing this one again – I like the scent and I like the ingredients.
I did notice though that the color runs down my bathtub when rinsing and sticks if I choose to take a bath instead of a shower- it does not stain though. I know that color is used to enhance visual appeal of products, but I am perfectly OK with no color added and same good ingredients!

This bar has a natural greenish brown color due to the nature of the ingredients, even without the mica, so I am not sure that taking out the mica would solve the issue, but we will keep this in mind for future production. Thank you for your feedback!

One of my favorites that I’ve used so far! Sadly I didn’t get to use it much, because I let my boyfriend try it out and he LOVED it. After one wash, he said his skin felt noticeably better (less red/itchy) and his hair more moisturized. (He had been using those 3-in-1 chemical soaps for years…no wonder!) Great scent and great results!

**Top 3 favorite products I have ever used, ever. Um….. Hello HAIR GROWTH?! My hairdresser was shocked to see how much my hair had grown in-between services after I started using this bar! I bleach my hair, so it is easy to measure the new growth in a 4-week period! This bar has the best lather of all of the bars I have tried so far – it gets in there offering a deep clean! The scent of this bar is so refreshing, and my husband continues to compliment it over and over again telling me how good my hair smells! 😊 I use this bar from head to toe – shampoo & body wash. Absolutely love this shampoo. Will probably be my go to for a long time until they come out with something else amazing. The smell of this one is very strong but it’s awesome.
