Every individual’s skin type is unique, and what works for someone else might not work for you. For instance, some skin types don’t need soap, and some don’t need a moisturizer. Experiment to find what is best for you. Also, your skin’s needs can change over time!
When experimenting with new products for your skin, start fresh with one product at a time. Only introduce ONE new product every 2 weeks! We recommend starting with our most simple, natural, and unscented product options. Try not to exceed a handful of products used on the same area!
If you don’t have a bath or shower filter, please consider trying one at your own discretion.
Acne
Read the above disclaimers and use your best discretion. Try our Oily Skincare Set to adjust each product usage as needed for adaptive acne skin types. We give a free consultation on how to use these products after purchasing the set. Please read more information below for how to use and other tips.
Acne is a complicated skin issue involving a variety of internal and external imbalances that differ between every individual. These can also depend on genetics and other lifestyle factors. Try to experiment by changing one thing at a time to control for variables every few weeks or so.
See our Rosacea tab below as both acne and rosacea can occur together. Rosacea and acne are often confused as the same thing.
How To Use and Why We Recommend These Products
- There are specific types of bacteria that live on the surface of the skin and in the pores. Acne is caused by an overgrowth of these bacteria. This can be caused by an improper or irregular cleansing routine. If the skin is not shedding cells fast enough and overproduces oils, bacteria can flourish. Consistency is key.
- Acne is also worsened by lifestyle factors. These factors include diet, exercise, water intake, and rest.
- Genetic predispositions and hormonal imbalances can affect individual needs with these factors.
- There are also different types of acne bacteria that respond differently to certain treatments.
- There is bacteria that aren’t affected by alkaline products because they thrive in an alkaline environment.
- There is bacteria that aren’t affected by acidic products because they thrive in an acidic environment.
- An effective routine is combining these two environments 2 or more times per day in a step-by-step process. You can replenish the skin’s barrier afterward with non-comedogenic moisturizers or protectors if the skin becomes too stripped.
- A weekly gentle exfoliation and facial mask/peel is also recommended to quickly renew the skin’s surface cells. This is for a deeper cleanse and rejuvenation, revealing smaller pores and healthier skin faster.
- Stick to basic product recommendations and a cleansing routine like the one above as a strict schedule. Adjust it according to your skin’s adapting needs. Acne-prone skin types can shed their epidermal cells 5 times faster, but are sensitive and highly adaptable to changes.
- Change up your routine if your skin needs it every few weeks.
- Always make sure your skin is clean and also lightly moisturized, balance is key!
- For example, if your skin becomes too dry then reduce or stop toner usage. Versus if your skin becomes too oily then reduce or stop moisturizer usage.
- Please consider our lifestyle tips below to get the the root of the issues of more stubborn acne cases.
Lifestyle Tips
- Try to get at least 8-9 hours of non-interrupted sleep every night. This helps to reset hormones and rejuvenate all cells in the body, including your skin cells.
- Try to drink at least 64 ounces of pure water every day. Water helps to renew your skin cells and naturally detox your skin, regulating hormones, slow aging, and so much more.
- Try to relax and reduce stress as much as possible. Stress hormones are a HUGE contribution to acne and worry lines! Take everything day-by-day and step-by-step, and take care of yourself when your body is telling you to.
- Try a form of daily face yoga to detox and drain any stagnant hormones and lymphatic fluids. These cause a toxic environment for your skin – your skin will heal faster and look much younger.
- Keep a proper posture and deep breathing at all times!
- For all the reasons above, try gentle, relaxing, and enjoyable exercises that go at your current pace. Do not over-stress or strain yourself!
- Stay away from your known triggers. Some common triggers are:
- Iodine which includes Iodized Salt (“salt” on the ingredient list is also iodized)
- Seaweeds/Kelp and Seafoods (especially Shellfish)
- Peanuts and other foods high in androgens
- Biotin, B6, and B12 supplements
- Vegetable Oils (Canola, Corn, Soybean)
- Soy Products (tofu, seitan, soy sauce, oil, etc.) which can alter your hormones
- Industrialized Dairy Products (especially animals supplemented with salt and teats treated with iodine)
- Caffeine
- Alcohol
- Highly processed sugar (blood sugar spikes can elevate cortisol and exhaust the adrenals, making the the body produce too much testosterone)
- Highly processed foods/ingredients
- Refined/processed carbs
- Refrain from picking or popping pustules, go to a dermatologist or use their techniques if your skin needs this.
- Stop using chemical detergents and synthetic fragrances in your laundry washing routine (this includes dryer sheets). Try making your own laundry liquid or powder with our Unscented Washing Soap (recipe ideas included). Use wool dryer balls instead of dryer sheets. Scents of any kind (including essential oils) can alter hormone production. Detergent chemicals or waxes from dry sheets can clog and irritate pores.
- Avoid comedogenic products on your skin where acne is prone. Please reference our handy guide below.

Age Spots
- Ageless Skincare Set
- Vitamin C+E Primer
- Sun Cream Butters
- Oyster-C Serum
- Egg White + Vitamin-C Face Mask
- Frankincense Milk Lotion
- Frankincense Skin Butter
- Bergamot Skin Butter
- Summer Citrus Milk Lotion
Why We Recommend These Products
Age spots are caused by overactive pigment cells. Ultraviolet (UV) light speeds up the production of melanin, a natural pigment that gives skin its color. On skin that has had years of sun exposure, age spots form when melanin becomes clumped or is produced in high concentrations. We recommend our UV light sun cream and our products that complement sun protection with high anti-oxidants for this reason: to prevent and reverse sun damaged skin.
Allergies
Avoid any known allergies. Stop using products that contain triggers. Most common triggers include:
- Toxins (either natural or synthetic)
- Natural substances can cause allergic reactions in people with a sensitivity to it
- Avoid fragrances and essential oils
- Avoid water-based products that need preservatives or other strong chemicals
- Avoid detergents and surfactants
Start with a clean slate when trying a new topical product. Slowly introduce new products to your body. Only add a new product after a few weeks of having a regular routine. Add new products one at a time, waiting a few weeks between each one. This eliminates confusion for yourself and your body if you do have a reaction to something. This will clarify where the trigger is more easily.
Baby
Find everything baby needs in the unscented product recommendations below, approved by our own pediatricians and OBGYN’s!
Body Odor
Start with our Fragrance-FreeDeodorant, then try other scents as you prefer.
The unscented choice is great for any part of the body, from pits to privates!
Bug Bites
Why We Recommend These Products
Bugs are attracted to your CO2 exhalation. This occurs from your mouth and nose, and also your skin – especially where your veins are more exposed! Bugs are attracted to sweet and strong smells as well. They are also attracted to bright colors and patterns that trick them into thinking that you are one big flower! Bugs can also be territorial, using their small yet very annoying defenses against anything they feel is a threat. Our Bug Off products can help mask this attraction or threatened sense.
Bug bites or stings can cause a slight allergic reaction or inflammatory response on the skin’s surface. These bites or stings can cause irritation, itching, burning, or stinging. This can be remedied by applying the product recommendations above along with some baking soda paste to neutralize the toxins. Also apply ice or cold compresses to reduce swelling.
Burns
For sun burns, see our Sun / UV Light Exposure tab below.
Soothing Burn Aftercare:
Cancer (Skin)
- Sun Cream
- VitaminC+E TallowPrimer
- Frankincense TallowButter
- Frankincense TallowButtermilk Soap
- Repair & Renew TallowButter
- Herbal Honey TallowButter
Avoiding questionable ingredients, known triggers, and harmful chemicals. Protecting and nourishing your skin can go a long way for some patients. But we are not doctors, so please consult with your licensed medical professional caretaker before combining skin treatments.
The product recommendations above are in no way a guarantee for a cure. However, many studies have shown that CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) has anti-cancerous properties. And CLA is richly found in 100% grass-fed suet tallow. (Source) Certain essential oils and plant compounds have also shown anti-cancerous properties, like those found in frankincense. (Source) Protecting skin against UV damage will also help deter cancerous growths, as most dermatologists recommend.
Cellulite
Why Cellulite Happens
- As fat cells increase, they push up against the skin. Tough, long connective cords pull down. This creates an uneven surface or dimpling, often referred to as cellulite. Cellulite is a very common, harmless skin condition that causes lumpy, dimpled flesh on the thighs, hips, buttocks and abdomen.
- Cellulite can even happen in overweight young children.
- It is a common concern for aging women around the thighs and buttocks.
- The best remedy against cellulite is to keep a healthy weight and also exercise. Specifically target those areas where stubborn cellulite can be seen.
- A good exfoliation or circulatory stimulation of the top epidermal layers can also help to break up the dimpling. This is only a temporary effect and will return if the fat cells stay the same size.
Dermatitis
- UnscentedSoaps (stop overdrying and damaging your skin)
- UnscentedTallowButters (keep a light layer always on the skin until symptoms subside)
- UnscentedButter Balms (a great protective layer that still lets the skin breathe)
- UnscentedSkinFood (a heavier protective layer)
- ECZEMA tab and SENSITIVITIES tab
Dermatitis is caused by a combination of immune system overreaction, genetics, and environmental triggers. If you have topical dermatitis, your immune system can react to seemingly small irritants or allergens.
We recommend to stay away from any skin product with water. This is because water-based products need strong preservatives to prevent harmful microbial growth. These stronger chemicals can cause adverse skin reactions to sensitive skin types.
It is extremely important to keep the skin clean morning and night (with our unscented soaps). Also, it should be constantly moisturized (with our unscented TallowButters or Butter Balm). Cases of dermatitis have been reported to go away when one is consistent with these practices. As long as one is abstaining from any other product use. It can take days or weeks for the symptoms to go away, depending on how severe the case is. One must also consider what the skin is being exposed to, or is sensitive to. If you are aware of any allergic triggers or sensitivities, try to stop exposing yourself to these triggers.
Dryness or Cracking
For Light Flaking (click lines below to view products):
- Only Use Our Soaps For Cleansing
- Only Use Our Moisturizers ALWAYS After Cleansing
- UnscentedMilk Lotion
- Protect Your Skin In Harsh Environments
For Deep Cracking/Bleeding (also to the suggestions above):
Dry skin is the result of improper nourishment, protection, and care of the skin. The skin has essentially lost its ability to form a protective moisturizing layer to prevent external dehydration. Many things can cause dry skin, including:
- Exposure to the sun, extreme heat or cold, chemicals, or surfactants/detergents
- Harsh skin treatments like peels or rough exfoliation
- Not applying moisturizer after washing the skin
- Using surfactants/detergents or other very drying soaps to wash the skin
- Applying sanitizer without also applying a moisturizer after each use
Dullness or Hyperpigmentation
- Step 1. FACIAL SOAP – wash at least morning and night, up to 4 times per day.
- Step 2. EXFOLIATING SOAP or CREAM – apply right after cleanser, up to 3 times per week.
- Step 3. FACIAL MASK – apply right after exfoliation, up to 3 times per week.
- Step 4. TONER – apply right after washing, up to 4 times per day.
- Step 5. PRIMER – apply right after toner, up to 4 times per day.
- Step 6. MOISTURIZER – apply right after primer, up to 4 times per day.
Dull or hyperpigmented skin are the result of many factors. These factors include genetic predispositions, dehydration, lack of nutrients, inactivity, post-inflammatory damage, or stress to the skin. Here are some lifestyle tips to help in cases of dull skin:
- Massage the skin and lymph nodes daily through “face yoga”
- Keep proper posture and deep breathing
- Drink at least 64 ounces of water per day
- Get at least 8-9 hours of good sleep per night
- Gentle exercises regularly that increase circulation and drainage

- Dryness (see DRYNESS tab above)
- Sun / UV Damage (see SUN / UV LIGHT EXPOSURE tab below)
Eye Bags or Circles
Dark Circles:
- Dream Cream (Night)
- Sleepy Salve (Night)
- Lavender Dreams Lotion (Night)
- Coffee & Cream TallowButter (Day)
- Sunrise Salve (Day)
- Sun Cream (Sun Exposure)
- VitaminC + E Primer
- CollagenEggWhite Mask
Why Dark Circles Happen:
Dark circles under the eyes are usually caused by different factors. These factors include aging, genetics, allergies, eye rubbing, excessive sun exposure, or not getting enough sleep or exercise.
Tips To Reduce Dark Eye Circles:
Use a cool compress. Wet a clean washcloth with cool water. Sit up to lightly apply the damp washcloth to the skin under and around your eyes for a few minutes.
Cut down on fluids before bedtime and limit salt in your diet. This will reduce the fluid retention that can cause bags under eyes.
Don’t smoke. Smoking can aggravate the problem of bags under your eyes.
Get enough sleep. For most adults, 7 to 9 hours is a good amount of sleep.
Sleep with your head slightly raised. It may help to add an extra pillow or prop up the head of your mattress. Or elevate the entire head of the bed a few inches. This helps prevent fluid from accumulating around your eyes as you sleep.
Reduce allergy symptoms. Avoid allergens when possible. Try nonprescription allergy medications. Talk to your healthcare provider about prevention strategies.
Try the recommended products above and switch all your body care products to avoid common allergen triggers!
Exercise is also important to increase circulation. This can also include facial yoga.
Puffy Bags:
- Oyster-C Solid Serum
- Pearl-Polish Solid Serum
- Blue TansyAloeTallow
- CollagenEggWhite Mask
- The BluePearl Mask
- Dream Cream (Night)
- Lavender Dreams Lotion (Night)
- Sleepy Salve (Night)
- Coffee Cream TallowButter (Day)
- Sunrise Salve (Day)
- Sun Cream (Sun Exposure)
- VitaminC + E Primer
Why Puffy Eye Bags Happen:
Bags under eyes are caused when the tissue structures and muscles supporting your eyelids weaken. The skin starts to sag, and fat that’s usually around the eye can move into the area below your eyes. Also, the space below your eyes can gather fluid, making the area look puffy or swollen.
Tips to reduce eye bags and puffiness:
Use a cool compress. Wet a clean washcloth with cool water. Sit up to lightly apply the damp washcloth to the skin under and around your eyes for a few minutes.
Cut down on fluids before bedtime and limit salt in your diet. This will reduce the fluid retention that can cause bags under eyes.
Don’t smoke. Smoking can aggravate the problem of bags under your eyes.
Get enough sleep. For most adults, 7 to 9 hours is a good amount of sleep.

Reduce allergy symptoms. Avoid allergens when possible. Try nonprescription allergy medications. Try nonprescription allergy medications. Talk to your healthcare provider about prevention strategies.
Try the recommended products above and switch all your body care products to avoid common allergen triggers!
Exercise is also important to increase circulation. This can also include facial yoga.
Hang Nails
Keep nails and cuticles trimmed, filed, buffed, and moisturized.
Good moisturizers include:
Ingrown Hairs
- Basic Skincare Set
- Shaving Soaps (3-in-1 Shampoo, Body, Shaving Soaps)
- Clay Masks
- Exfoliators
- Toners (aftershave)
Step 1: Cleanse (1-3X Daily)
Step 2: Exfoliate (1-2X Weekly)
Step 3: Detox (1-2X Weekly)
Step 4: Toner (1-3X Daily)
Step 5 and 6: Protect and Moisturize (1-3X Daily)
Why Ingrown Hairs Happen:
- Ingrown hairs occur when hair that’s been removed starts to grow back and curves into the skin. When this happens, the body responds to the hair as if it were an intruder, causing inflammation.
- Hair follicles can become clogged with dead skin cells, trapping hairs under the epidermis.
- Keep follicles clear using natural soaps with clay, toners (aftershave), as well as using regular exfoliators and clay masks. These can help reduce the chances of ingrown hairs.
The common causes or triggers of ingrown hairs as well as some remedies are listed below:
Hair Removal Damage
- The most common cause of ingrown hairs is an improper shaving technique. But shaving is not the only way ingrown hairs occur.
- Waxing and plucking hairs out also commonly cause ingrown hairs. Plucked hairs grow back through the follicle. If the hair growth turn backs before reaching the skin’s surface, it clogs the follicle.
Clogged Follicles
- It is also possible for hair follicles to become clogged by: dead skin, dirt, and debris.
- When this happens, the hair in the follicle can become stuck or grow sideways into the skin. This causes an ingrown hair. In some cases, the hair can even be seen growing under the surface of the skin.
Friction
- Friction caused by wearing tight clothing for extended periods of time can also cause ingrown hairs.
- The friction caused by body movement throughout the day can also rub hairs against the skin continuously. This causes the hairs to turn around and push back into the follicle.
Keratosis Pilaris
- Milk Lotions
- AllButtermilk Soaps
- Bath Bombs withButtermilk
- Clay Masks withButtermilk
- Exfoliating Scrub
- Simply Scrub TallowButtermilk Soap
Avoid potential allergens like detergents and surfactants, fragrances, etc.
It’s very important to keep skin clean with our ButtermilkSoaps. Wash morning and night, then apply our milk lotions after. A nice treat for the skin would be our ButtermilkBathBombs once a week and our ButtermilkClayMasks!
Any product with lactic acid or other AHA’s (Alpha-Hydroxy Acids) will help regulate keratin production and rejuvenate skin cells faster. Milk products (especially farm-fresh buttermilk, cow milk, and goat milk) are very high in lactic acids and AHA’s.
Also to these, a good exfoliation is recommended 2-3 times per week with our exfoliating butters and soaps! This will increase cell renewal and allow the lactic acids to penetrate deeper into the epidermis for faster results!
Why KP Happens:
- Keratin is a tough, fibrous protein found in fingernails, hair, and skin. The body produces extra keratin as a result of different factors. These factors include inflammation, as a protective response to pressure, or as a result of a genetic condition.
- Keratosis Pilaris is a form of hyperkeratosis, where the skin produces excess keratin deposits. This manifests as many hard, raised bumps on the pores of the skin.
- We get keratosis pilaris when dead skin cells clog our pores. A pore is also called a hair follicle. Every hair on our body grows out of a hair follicle, so we have thousands of hair follicles.
- When dead skin cells clog many hair follicles, you feel the rough, dry patches of keratosis pilaris.
- So, it is very important to use the products recommended above and avoid triggers to prevent the symptoms of KP!
Loose Skin
The set above is what we recommend from our product line. These are to moisturize, nourish, exfoliate, heal, and tighten symptoms of loose skin.
Rapid weight loss due to surgery, lifestyle changes, or post-pregnancy can result in excessive loose skin. The skin did not have enough time to shrink back down at the same rate of weight loss. Losing around 1 lb. per week is the best way to avoid sagging skin. If the rapid weight loss was more extreme (over 50 pounds), a full correction can only be achieved through surgery. Caring for your skin can tighten, tone, heal the skin faster, and make it look healthier before and after surgery. Proper skincare can even reverse the effects of mild to moderate loose skin.
Lifestyle Tips:
- Regular Exercise (3 times a week of weight-training, muscle toning, intensive yoga to build muscle, etc.)
- Drink 64-96 oz of pure water per day
- Skin brushing, gua sha, and other ways to exfoliate, increase lymph flow underneath the skin, and improve skin circulation.
- Eating a diet rich in proteins and vitamins.
- Protecting your skin from excessive sun exposure.
- Moisturize your skin and avoid over-drying your skin.
- Seek a dermatologist for other professional therapies or surgery for extreme cases.
- Congratulations on your journey to a healthier you!
Nursing
Find everything else mom & baby needs in the product recommendations above. Or check out our BABY tab, approved by our own pediatricians and OBGYN’s!
Oily
See our ACNE, ROSACEA, or COMBINATION tab above.
Poison Ivy or Poison Oak
Why Poison Ivy or Oak Rashes Happen:
Poison ivy rash is caused by an allergic reaction to an oily resin called urushiol (u-ROO-she-ol). This oily resin is in the leaves, stems and roots of poison ivy, poison oak and poison sumac. Wash your skin right away if you come into contact with this oil. Anti-histamines, soothing herbs, and detoxifying clay applications can help deter the allergic reaction and draw out the resinous deposits.

Your skin and scalp literally absorb what you put on it. Think of a nicotine patch or a poisonous frog that you are told never to touch. Your skin will use the nutrients or toxins applied to it, for good or bad. So those skin and hair products with questionable ingredients can be exacerbating the issue! Making the switch to our Sensitive Skin products will be enough to clear up the concerns (see SENSITIVITIES tab below). Otherwise, please see our other recommendations below.
We have seen many reports of customers successfully reducing or eliminating their psoriasis symptoms. This is after switching to our body care products. Our theory is that our products are high in the nutrients people are lacking. These specific nutrients can help to improve their immune system role, like bioavailable Vitamin D3. Buttermilk is also high in Alpha-Hydroxy Acids, which overturn skin cells faster and improve cell regeneration and regulation.
Why Psoriasis Happens
Psoriasis is an immune-mediated disease that causes inflammation in the body. This is a disease with an unclear cause that is characterized by inflammation caused by an immune system dysfunction. There are visible signs of inflammation like raised plaques and scales on the skin. These plaques and scales can look different for different skin types.
This occurs because the overactive immune system speeds up skin cell growth. Normal skin cells completely grow and shed (fall off) in a month. With psoriasis, skin cells do this in only three or four days. Instead of shedding, the skin cells pile up on the surface of the skin. Some people report that psoriasis plaques itch, burn, and sting. Plaques and scales emerge on any part of the body. They are commonly found on the elbows, knees, and scalp. See examples and learn more at: https://www.psoriasis.org/about-psoriasis/

Skin Tags
- Frankincense TallowButter
- Apple Cider Vinegar TallowButter
- VitaminC + E TallowPrimer
- Oyster-C Serum
- Cellular SilkTallowPrimer
Why Skin Tags Happen
Skin tags occur when extra cells grow in the top layers of the skin. They can develop when the skin rubs against itself too often. Skin tags are more common in people who are overweight or have folds of skin. They are more common in older people and people living with type 2 diabetes.
Try to avoid skin rubbing against itself, and cut high sugar consumption.

Also see our LOOSE SKIN tab above.
Why Stretch Marks Happen
A stretch mark is a type of scar that develops when our skin stretches or shrinks quickly. The abrupt change causes the collagen and elastin, which support our skin, to rupture. As the skin heals, stretch marks do not always form. Not everyone develops these narrow bands on their skin, and much of the effects are caused by genetic predispositions. It is important to always apply moisturizer as the skin is stretching. Keeping skin well-moisturized will greatly reduce the rupturing of collagen and elastin.
After the skin has already stretched and the damage has already been done, sometimes it will take more patience. Unfortunately once stretched, skin will never be the same again. Stimulating collagen production through deep exfoliation in those areas can help encourage the skin to repair itself slowly. Our collagen, egg, hyaluronic acid, farm-fresh fats, milk, and buttermilk products can help. These products contain nourishing and bioavailable ingredients to give your skin the most topical benefits for its journey to recovery!
Sun / UV Light Exposure
Protection and Damage Control:
How It Works
- Non-nano zinc oxide in our sun cream forms a physical, mineral barrier to block UV light rays. This prevents letting the skin absorb these harmful light rays.
- Anti-oxidants like organic Vitamin E and Vitamin C help to prevent skin oxidation. Oxidation creates aging and damaging effects from UV light exposure. These can also enhance the effects of a sunscreen when used before sunscreen application.
Soothing Sunburn Aftercare:
- UnscentedAloeVera Cream
- Cooling Peppermint AloeVera Cream
- LanolinEmu TallowButter
- Apple Cider Vinegar TallowButter
- Lavender TallowButter
- Frankincense TallowButter
- ChamomileCalendula TallowButter
Why Sun Damage Happens
Sun damage happens when ultraviolet (UV) light hits skin unprotected by sunscreen, causing DNA changes at a cellular level. Because this damage happens in the deepest layers of the skin, it can take years before the damage becomes visible.
Dermatologists refer to the damage the sun does to skin by several names. These names include “photoaging”, “photodamage”, “solar damage”, or “sun damage”. It happens when ultraviolet (UV) light hits skin unprotected by sunscreen, causing DNA changes at a cellular level. This mainly happens through oxidation of the cells. Oxidation makes the skin more susceptible to cancer and other abnormalities like skin tags, age spots, moles, etc.
Recent anecdotal correlations between consuming highly processed GMO seed oils with susceptibility to sunburns and skin damage have been made. If you suffer from sun-sensitivity, eliminating highly processed GMO seed oils from your diet can be worth the experiment!
Warts
- Robber’s Remedy TallowButter
- Frankincense Milk Lotion
- Fragrance-FreeMilk Lotion
- Northern Pine Forest Soap
- Frankincense Soap
- Frankincense TallowButter
- Frankincense Bath Bomb
- Pine Tar Soap
Why Warts Happen
Warts are caused by an infection with specific types of viruses. These viruses cause an excess amount of keratin, a hard protein, to develop in the top skin layer (epidermis). The extra keratin produces the rough, hard texture of a wart. Also see KERATOSIS PILARIS tab above.
Wounds
With your physician’s approval and after the wound is closed, we recommend applying these products to clean skin to help speed healing:
Wrinkles and Crepes
Product Recommendations
How These Work
Eliminates sun and UV light exposure damage.
Stimulates collagen production with vitamins and exfoliators and keratin production with collagen containing topical applications.
Plumps skin with hyaluronic acid.
Renews skin cells with Alpha-Hydroxy Acids from milk and buttermilk products.
Moisturizes and nourish skin with high-quality animals fats and other bioavailable nutrients.
Tightens skin with astringent moisturizers.
Why Wrinkles and Crepes Happen
As we grow older, our skin can gradually become more loose and flaccid, losing hydration and suppleness. When skin begins to feel thin as paper, the most common cause isn’t age, says dermatologist Amy Kassouf, MD.
Crepey skin typically can be traced to sun damage. This is unlike wrinkles around the eyes and mouth that result from repeated muscle movements. Exposure to the sun breaks down elastin. Elastin the fibers in your skin that allow it to stretch and return to its normal position.
Try some form of daily “face yoga” to release deep wrinkles from repeated facial muscle tensions. This also helps drain excess lymphatic fluids that keep and exaggerate wrinkles. Use a good, nourishing moisturizer after your non-stripping cleanser (we have plenty of both, see the Product Recommendations tab above!).
See our SUN or UV LIGHT EXPOSURE tab above for more information and product recommendations!
