Yes, our tallows are in smaller containers compared to the big bottles of store-bought lotions: a little goes a very long way! The longer you consistently use tallow, the less you will need, as tallow actually helps to balance and regulate your skin – rather than dry it out as most lotions do. This isn’t an advantage for the seller, but it is fantastic for the consumer! Tallow regulates the skin to rely LESS on moisturizers, instead of training it to depend on MORE moisturizers over time. Therefore, tallow IMPROVES your skin over time, instead of subtly and slowly making it become dependent upon outside moisture, like chemical lotions do.

Suet, as opposed to muscle fat, contains a higher level of saturated fatty acids and a triglyceride known as glyceryl tristearate, otherwise called “stearin”. Suet therefore softens and smooths the skin’s surface better than regular tallow fat, while also helping to maintain and protect the skin’s barrier.

Tallow resembles our natural sebum (skin oil) and absorbs into the skin easily, which helps to balance the skin’s sebum production after a cleanse. Moreover, grass-fed tallow contains conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). We often hear the question “Why not make it without Vitamin E?” and if not, “Will you teach me how to make this myself?” If the answers above do not satisfy, or if you want the only ingredient to be farm-fresh, high-quality tallow – then we invite you to experiment with rendering and whipping your own suet from a good local farmer near you and using in 3-6 months (without the addition of Vitamin E) in careful storage. Also, the proper rendering and filtration methods take several hours to carefully accomplish correctly without damaging the suet. It took us years to perfect the process and find the right suet suppliers, plus ALL suet batches are slightly different due to seasons, diet, genetics, locations, etc. – it is a lot to learn and not easy to teach! We do not share our method for making local tallow butter from our suet suppliers – you will need to experiment with your own farm-fresh suet if you wish to attempt to create a similar quality. △ Beading & Other Inconsistencies
Farm-fresh suet tallow in it’s raw (unprocessed and natural) state can be compared to farm-fresh raw honey. If you have ever had raw honey crystallize after sitting in your cabinet, the beekeeper probably told you it is doing exactly what that product does naturally, and it can be gently re-heated to go back to a more fluid, consistent texture state. Raw, unprocessed honey still has molecular memory – the compounds tend to draw back into their natural state over time, remembering their original composition. This is the same story with 100% grass-fed whipped farm-fresh suet tallow – except that it beads instead of crystalizes. We have not been able to determine exactly the reasons for beading, whether due to abrupt temperature fluctuations, atmospheric pressures, humidity levels, or additional ingredients: beading is a total mystery we are still trying to pin the precise cause of (and we will probably never be able to). Some tallow jars will bead, while others from the same batch stored in the same location do not! The beekeeper will be able to relate: as some honey jars crystallize, while other jars from the same batch do not. We learned this from having our own honeybees for a few years – it is a natural happening with high-quality products, although inconvenient.
You may also notice that raw natural honey (like farm-fresh tallow) is different in texture, taste, and color at different seasons – even from the same farmer and location. This is because of the seasonal availability of food for the bees and other environmental factors. Again, a very similar thing happens with grass-fed pasture-raised tallow: the texture, scent, and color vary at different seasons – even from the same farmers and locations. These are undetermined factors we have no control over due to the seasonal changes of environments and adapting natural genetics.
Despite these inconsistencies, the end performance and value of the product is still the same! With beading, it takes a few more seconds to massage the product on the skin to melt the beadings, that’s the only inconvenience. The other factors of “imperfections” are always a possibility with all-natural ingredients: affecting their scent, texture, color, and consistency. Since the ingredient is still fitting to the description of “100% grass-fed suet tallow” or “raw natural honey” as per our example – the product still works perfectly naturally and is still functioning exactly as stated and as nature intended. We could add more processed ingredients or chemical emulsifiers to remedy this, but we see this extra step as only compromising the benefits of our farm-fresh, natural, animal-based products to maybe only gain a slightly more consistent texture – it’s not even a guarantee! Just like our natural animal fat soaps will never lather like palm-based detergents, our hand-rendered tallow-based products can’t compare to the artificial consistency of highly processed and industrialized ingredients used in other body products.
Therefore, we feel that it is best to consider these inconsistencies as proof of the integrity of our ingredients, and take pleasure in knowing we are rubbing in a more wholesome skin food a little longer than if the texture, color, or scent was exactly “as-expected” like synthetic or highly processed creams are. In short, we do the best we can with what nature gifts us – we hope that you are able to enjoy a truly superior and natural product for your body, despite any organic inconsistencies!

NO SCENT OF ANY KIND WAS ADDED AS AN INGREDIENT TO THIS PRODUCT.
This product was made in our one and only facility where we manufacture all of our products (scented and unscented). Atmospheric scent may or may not transfer to a detectable level over to any unscented product.
We use exclusively unscented molds for making unscented products, these are even stored in separate containers to help reduce atmospheric scent transfer.
We thoroughly clean all manufacturing tools and surfaces between each use and keep our unscented products completely separate from our scented products (not touching).
Please keep in mind that our mailer boxes, tissue papers, cards, and peanuts have also been sitting in our same small business facility where we make scented products.
If any atmospheric scent is detected by sensitive buyers, we recommend to let the unscented product sit out (for a few days to a few weeks) in a dry atmosphere devoid of any scent with good air flow to allow any atmospheric smells to dissipate. Usually after the first use, any detectable atmospheric smell transfers will dissipate.

Consumers take the full risk of using the products as-intended by seller (whether suggested or implied) upon purchase.
TESTING
Furthermore, Perma-Earth LLC extensively tests their products in-house on their own limited personnel with their acknowledged consent. UNIQUE REACTIONS
As stated prior, Perma-Earth takes all possible measures to pre-test every product on our own staff members and family members before offering a product for sale. Personal dissatisfactions or unique reactions experienced by consumers or their dependents are not the fault of the manufacturer (Perma-Earth LLC), as this is the consumer’s risk of responsibility to educate themselves on their unique sensitivities and to contact the company with any further questions.
For instance, if one has a rare reaction to a preservative, oil, or fragrance – this is a consumer’s sole risk of using the product being pre-informed of the product’s ingredients or description of use prior to purchase. One must also take into consideration the “inferred” use of an ingredient in another product that they have previously deemed safe for use… For instance, if one has no reaction to a “grapefruit scented with essential oils” product and yet has a reaction to an “grapefruit essential oil scented” product, that does not mean that only true grapefruit essential oil was used in the prior product, nor does this guarantee that one will not have a reaction to another grapefruit scented product, as everyone uses different ratios and sources. If one discovers a sensitivity to one of our ingredients, we suggest seeking medical advice and to contact us with as much detail as possible, including clear photographs for us to record and log. Some ingredients naturally will cause a tingling sensation, such as peppermint oil or mint-like derivatives, magnesium oil or other oils like tea tree, lemongrass, eucalyptus, camphor, etc. Please use proper precautions when using products with these or similar ingredients around sensitive areas such as the eyes or orifices.
- Products that must be totally rinsed off with water OR washed off with soap completely after a limited period of use: Scrubs/Exfoliators, Shampoos/Soaps, Bath Bombs, etc. Please employ sensible precautions when using exfoliating products: not using too aggressively, nor too often, nor on wounds, sores, irritations, dry skin, or for prolonged periods of time.
- Products NEVER to be used externally (on the skin or otherwise): Candles, Wax-Melts. Follow instructions for safe use on candle product warning labels and wax-melters. Never leave them unattended, in an unstable location, near strong air flow, near fire hazards, or near children and/or pets.
- Products NEVER to be put where an infant may consume an unsafe amount: ANY water-based product containing phenoxyethanol (Milk Lotions, Hyaluronic Acid Products, Some Hair Styling Products, Etc.)
- Products that can be left on the skin or scalp for reasonable periods of time in non-excessive amounts: Conditioners, Hair Oils, Lotions, Balms, Butters, Deodorants, Perfumes, Etc.

I apply it mostly on the armpits because it’s dry and thin there. Instantly it works there. I’m going through a weight loss so I depend on this product to recover the very dry and dark parts of my skin. I also put them on my legs and feet. It smells very lanonlinly when I put it on the armpits. But I do wear perfume and shower often. If I put the tallow anywhere else even the face I don’t smell the lanolinly smell. @soymarigold
