Give Your Dog The Nutrients Their Hair & Skin Crave
Experience true food for your pooch’s hair and skin with real, nutrient-dense, traditionally handcrafted soap made with old-fashioned ingredients. Our artisanal shampoo soaps are handmade with carefully curated local, grass-fed, pasture-raised, and organic ingredients – proudly sourced from small family farms and homegrown here in the USA. What we can’t source locally, we seek the highest quality: certified organic, minimally processed, and fair-trade ingredients to feed your hair and skin from the outside-in. No detergents or surfactants are used in any of our shampoos.
Beginners should educate themselves on the possibility of a short adjustment period and the correct washing technique.
Ingredient Details (read full ingredients list in this product’s ingredients tab)
Diatomaceous Earth
While harmless to people and pets, Diatomaceous Earth is deadly to microscopic bugs like fleas, ticks, and mites. Diatomaceous earth destroys the exoskeleton of these organisms during a wash, which dries them out and kills them relatively quickly after contact or immersion.
Turmeric
Anti-inflammatory curcumin is a naturally occurring compound abundant in our Certified Organic Turmeric Root. This food-grade ingredient is wonderful for irritated and inflamed skin types.
Charcoal
Detoxifying and cleansing despite its dark and foreboding black color, our heat-activated hardwood Charcoal draws impurities out of the pores and follicles with its highly absorbent natural qualities.
Lard
Pasture-Raised, Pure, Hand-Rendered USA Lard feeds your hair and skin extra-nourishing balanced fatty acids and the world’s highest Vitamin D3 content, second only to cod liver oil. Lard has been used in haircare since medieval times for hair growth and hair health management. Our lard is carefully hand-rendered to keep its precious rare nutrients in-tact.
Lard is the 2nd fat in the world that is highest in Vitamin D3, second only to cod liver oil! Vitamin D3 is the most bioavailable form of Vitamin D. Vitamin D delivers a myriad of health benefits, including supporting healthy, long hair. As it turns out, Vitamin D3 is involved in various signaling pathways in the hair follicle and has a direct (and critical) role in the hair growth (aka anagen) phase. Topical application of vitamin D3 has been shown to render protection against damage caused to the skin by UV light. Vitamin D reduces cell death, promotes cell survival, and reduces redness and inflammation.
Since pasture-raised lard is lighter and softer in texture, slightly higher in unsaturated fatty acids, and higher in certain nutrients like Vitamin D3 – it makes a perfect fat base in our shampoo soaps, conditioners, and hair oils.
Pasture-Raised, properly fed lard is low on the comedogenic scale: it will not clog pores nor cause inflammation, in fact it may help with those issues. Since it is slightly higher in unsaturated fatty acids, it provides a more bubbly lather and a squeakier clean.
Our Lard is:
-
Slowly and carefully hand-rendered in our facility from the farm-fresh raw source
-
NEVER bleached or ultra-processed for a “white look”
-
Pasture-Raised from LOCAL and USA small family farms

Buttermilk
Local, Raw, Farm-Fresh, Grass-fed, Hand-Cultured Buttermilk to feed your hair the perfect food – high in essential vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fatty acids. Full-fat Jersey cow buttermilk is higher than goat milk in lactic acid and has the same moisturization content. The famously beautiful Egyptian Queen Cleopatra was a wise proponent, bathing in fresh buttermilk daily.
Buttermilk is high in multiple different proteins, vitamins, and minerals. Farm-fresh, raw buttermilk can have dozens of naturally occurring probiotics along with alpha-hydroxy acids like lactic acid, which promote cell renewal and rejuvenation of beauty factors such as brightness, tone, and complexion maintenance. Milk is considered a “complete protein” and “near-perfect food” meaning it contains all nine of the essential amino acids necessary for your body to function at an optimal level, plus all the essential Omega 3, 6, & 9 fatty acids in balanced proportions in addition to most of the vitamins and minerals your body needs. And buttermilk is even better! If raw milk can grow a baby calf into a cow within a few months, think of what it does to your hair!
Our Buttermilk is:
-
Slowly and carefully hand-cultured from the farm-fresh raw source
-
When the farm-fresh raw buttermilk arrives in our facility, it is frozen and used first-in, first-out to ensure the best nutrient content

Babassu Oil
Certified Organic Babassu Oil provides an extra foamy lather to build mounds of thick bubbles. This makes cleansing your hair an easier task without using pore-clogging palm or coconut oils. Babassu oil also helps maintain the hardness of your shampoo soap while in use and makes the bar last as long as possible in wet environments.
Olive Oil
Certified Organic, Cold-Pressed, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil has been used for thousands of years to make the best soaps in the world and is one of the major components of our shampoo bars. Olive oil provides a rich, smooth, silky shine to hair shafts while also retaining a mild, gentle cleanse. Olive oil is unique in that it’s very moisturizing, but not heavy.
Castor Oil
Certified Organic, Hexane-Free Castor Oil has been used for centuries to help heal damaged skin while also restoring new hair growth.* Also known as the “Palm of Christ”, its many priceless uses have yet to be overshadowed by any other known oil. Castor oil also helps to provide a thick, robust, and stable lather, while additionally strengthening the hair shafts and reducing split ends.
Jojoba Oil
Certified Organic Golden Jojoba Oil is actually a type of liquid plant wax that is claimed to be very similar to our skin’s sebum, providing a light moisturization without clogging pores. Jojoba oil has been very useful for haircare professionals, lending extra shine, strength, and manageability to hair health.
Abyssinian Oil
Abyssinian Oil is very similar to Argan oil but shown to be better in some ways. From multiple scientific studies, Abyssinian oil has been shown to provide superior protection against hair breakage and heat damage in professional salon settings. Shine and manageability are also markedly improved when incorporating Abyssinian oil into one’s haircare routine.
Kaolin Clay
Kaolin Clay helps detox your hair from the daily grime and air pollution from modern day living while also soothing and nourishing the scalp with trace minerals. This natural earthen clay assists with dandruff and encourages hair growth as well. For shaving, it lends an extra silky-smooth experience, but if a nick does occur – it helps stop and repair bleeding quickly. Just lather our soap on the area you need to shave and shave as you would normally (full shaving directions here).

I have an indoor outdoor white, longhaired cat. This means he needs to have baths sometimes to get rid of stains and nasty bugs off him. So because I know cats are very sensitive to E.Os, I went for this unscented one. He still absolutely HATES having a bath, but this natural soap really helps him not fuss so much about it. It helps keep his coat knot free too, which is great!

2 of my 3 dogs has very sensitive skin and they get flaky and itchy. This bar has been a lifesaver for them, giving them healthy shiny coats. They feel super soft and it’s gentle enough I can bath them once a week. I love that I’m putting something safe and healthy on them as well.

We adopted this cute boy a month ago. He had been staying in a kennel with a rescue and had a rough start prior. We bathed him once with regular doggie shampoo when he got home and he smelled better. My husband and I bathed him again with the shampooch a couple weeks later and his fur actually looked a different color! He looked more vibrant and his fur was softer. He’s a Staffie so he has prickly fur that makes your skin itch. This seems to help with that. The fur on his body is less prickly and I also notice that he is itching less. I think i saw a review where someone used a conditioner bar on their dog. I think i might like to try something unscented and see how that goes. I am very pleased with how this worked. Same washing technique as a regular shampoo bar. Make sure you rinse well to avoid dry skin. I went with unscented and felt there was very little if any unpleasant wet dog smell after. I feel like perfumed dog shampoos make everything worse.

Purchased the unscented dog shampoo and my dog loves it. The shampoo bar leaves his coat softer, shinier and more luscious than any other dog shampoo I have previously tried. No fear of getting chemicals in eyes or mouth, either.

Wonderful product for the puppers! Smells good but not strong, lathers great in both cold and warm water and makes my pups hair SO SOFT! Can always tell when she is fresh and clean by how smooth her coat is!

My corgi has super sensitive skin, and tends to get rashes/redness in his armpits and paws. I find it easier to use a bar of soap rather than liquid soap on my dog. I think it’s much easier and quicker to lather all of his fur. I’ve noticed a decrease in his skin inflammation, and a much shinier coat. I added a picture of his shiny coat for reference. I recommend this to all of my friends and their pups!

We have some pretty smelly dogs that live out in the country and enjoy rolling around in anything gross that they find…so when I say this stuff works, I mean it and it was really put to the test…LOL. The dogs were so soft and shiny after using it and they smelled great, most other shampoos we’ve used just couldn’t quite get all the rotten smells off of them but this did the trick and they still smell great a week later. Also, they are not itchy or have flaky skin. Great stuff! I highly recommend. I bought the scented version and it is just right, not too strong but makes the dogs smell nice.

I was tired of taking our golden girl to get groomed just to have her itch like crazy afterwards because the soap they use is full of chemicals. We have given her a couple bathes using this soap and her fur is smooth, silky and the softest its ever been! We look forward to giving her more bathes using this soap. The scent is subtle and not overpowering. Thank you for creating a wonderful chemical free fragrance for our pups!

I didn’t want to use chemical soap on my pup and was so happy to see you guys had this. Makes her coat so soft and she smells good too.

This shampoo bar has worked amazingly on both of my dogs coat! Not only did they really enjoy being “brushed” with the bar, they smell so much better than any shampoo I have used in the past and their fur is now so soft and shiny. I also paired this with the conditioner bar that I had turned into a liquid for extra shine. Fantastic product. Two paws up!

Our Labradane, Daisy, would get these big red patches on her tummy. She wouldn’t stop scratching and licking which was making them worse. I began using the unscented Shampooch bar, and it has helped get rid of those red, itchy patches on her tummy! I honestly believe it’s those wonderful ingredients to help her fur and skin be soft and healthy. Why buy the cheap, useless products in the store, when you can buy this bar to truly help nourish your doggo!

My dog has a whole host of allergies and skin conditions. I’ve tried every veterinary and medicated shampoo option available and nothing helped. After just a few baths with this, he is less itchy, noticably less dandruff and irritation. I’m so impressed.
