For Dandruff Scalp Types
Experience true food for your hair and skin with real, nutrient-dense, traditionally handcrafted soap made with old-fashioned ingredients. Our artisanal shampoo soaps are handmade with carefully curated local, grass-fed, pasture-raised, and organic ingredients – proudly sourced from small family farms and homegrown here in the USA. What we can’t source locally, we seek the highest quality: certified organic, minimally processed, and fair-trade ingredients to feed your hair and skin from the outside-in. No detergents or surfactants are used in any of our shampoos.
When washing properly, our basic unscented formula is suitable for all hair types used as-needed with an optional conditioner. Some scents and additional ingredients on top of our basic formula may alter results for each individual.

Magnesium
Our Magnesium Chloride is naturally derived from the waters of the ancient Zechstein Sea. Magnesium helps to stimulate hair growth and feeds the body a nutrient that is essential for over 300 health-optimizing functions, which includes maximizing hair health. Magnesium used to be abundantly available to humans through external exposure to the natural elements and rich soils, both of which are sorely lacking in modern day societies. Magnesium is essential in helping your body create protein, which helps with hair growth. Magnesium regulates calcium movement and buildup: Calcium deposits in the hair follicles can cause hair loss, and magnesium oil dissolves the calcium deposits and buildup that can occur due to hard water.
Lard
Pasture-Raised, Pure, Hand-Rendered USA Lard feeds your hair and skin extra-nourishing balanced fatty acids and the world’s highest Vitamin D3 content, second only to cod liver oil. Lard has been used in haircare since medieval times for hair growth and hair health management. Our lard is carefully hand-rendered to keep its precious rare nutrients in-tact.
Lard is the 2nd fat in the world that is highest in Vitamin D3, second only to cod liver oil! Vitamin D3 is the most bioavailable form of Vitamin D. Vitamin D delivers a myriad of health benefits, including supporting healthy, long hair. As it turns out, Vitamin D3 is involved in various signaling pathways in the hair follicle and has a direct (and critical) role in the hair growth (aka anagen) phase. Topical application of vitamin D3 has been shown to render protection against damage caused to the skin by UV light. Vitamin D reduces cell death, promotes cell survival, and reduces redness and inflammation.
Since pasture-raised lard is lighter and softer in texture, slightly higher in unsaturated fatty acids, and higher in certain nutrients like Vitamin D3 – it makes a perfect fat base in our shampoo soaps, conditioners, and hair oils.
Pasture-Raised, properly fed lard is low on the comedogenic scale: it will not clog pores nor cause inflammation, in fact it may help with those issues. Since it is slightly higher in unsaturated fatty acids, it provides a more bubbly lather and a squeakier clean.
Our Lard is:
-
Slowly and carefully hand-rendered in our facility from the farm-fresh raw source
-
NEVER bleached or ultra-processed for a “white look”
-
Pasture-Raised from LOCAL and USA small family farms

Buttermilk
Local, Raw, Farm-Fresh, Grass-fed, Hand-Cultured Buttermilk to feed your hair the perfect food – high in essential vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fatty acids. Full-fat Jersey cow buttermilk is higher than goat milk in lactic acid and has the same moisturization content. The famously beautiful Egyptian Queen Cleopatra was a wise proponent, bathing in fresh buttermilk daily.
Buttermilk is high in multiple different proteins, vitamins, and minerals. Farm-fresh, raw buttermilk can have dozens of naturally occurring probiotics along with alpha-hydroxy acids like lactic acid, which promote cell renewal and rejuvenation of beauty factors such as brightness, tone, and complexion maintenance. Milk is considered a “complete protein” and “near-perfect food” meaning it contains all nine of the essential amino acids necessary for your body to function at an optimal level, plus all the essential Omega 3, 6, & 9 fatty acids in balanced proportions in addition to most of the vitamins and minerals your body needs. And buttermilk is even better! If raw milk can grow a baby calf into a cow within a few months, think of what it does to your hair!
Our Buttermilk is:
-
Slowly and carefully hand-cultured from the farm-fresh raw source
-
When the farm-fresh raw buttermilk arrives in our facility, it is frozen and used first-in, first-out to ensure the best nutrient content

Babassu Oil
Certified Organic Babassu Oil provides an extra foamy lather to build mounds of thick bubbles. This makes cleansing your hair an easier task without using pore-clogging palm or coconut oils. Babassu oil also helps maintain the hardness of your shampoo soap while in use and makes the bar last as long as possible in wet environments.
Olive Oil
Certified Organic, Cold-Pressed, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil has been used for thousands of years to make the best soaps in the world and is one of the major components of our shampoo bars. Olive oil provides a rich, smooth, silky shine to hair shafts while also retaining a mild, gentle cleanse. Olive oil is unique in that it’s very moisturizing, but not heavy.
Castor Oil
Certified Organic, Hexane-Free Castor Oil has been used for centuries to help heal damaged skin while also restoring new hair growth.* Also known as the “Palm of Christ”, its many priceless uses have yet to be overshadowed by any other known oil. Castor oil also helps to provide a thick, robust, and stable lather, while additionally strengthening the hair shafts and reducing split ends.
Jojoba Oil
Certified Organic Golden Jojoba Oil is actually a type of liquid plant wax that is claimed to be very similar to our skin’s sebum, providing a light moisturization without clogging pores. Jojoba oil has been very useful for haircare professionals, lending extra shine, strength, and manageability to hair health.
Abyssinian Oil
Abyssinian Oil is very similar to Argan oil but shown to be better in some ways. From multiple scientific studies, Abyssinian oil has been shown to provide superior protection against hair breakage and heat damage in professional salon settings. Shine and manageability are also markedly improved when incorporating Abyssinian oil into one’s haircare routine.
Kaolin Clay
Kaolin Clay helps detox your hair from the daily grime and air pollution from modern day living while also soothing and nourishing the scalp with trace minerals. This natural earthen clay assists with dandruff and encourages hair growth as well. For shaving, it lends an extra silky-smooth experience, but if a nick does occur – it helps stop and repair bleeding quickly. Just lather our soap on the area you need to shave and shave as you would normally (full shaving directions here).
Essential Oils
Pure and therapeutic-grade Essential Oils are included for a more natural scent and some therapeutic benefits. Please keep in mind that not including fragrances will reduce the scent hold, decreasing the linger time and strength compared to what many are used to with store-bought products. I really enjoy using this bar. Great price, great results, easy to use! This bar has been really effective in managing my dry skin and scalp eczema. Really love the smell and the way it makes my scalp feel. The shampoo is easy to lather and do feel like it cools my irritated skin. Highly recommend this bar!
Bailey Agattas –
This is a great bar, it helps with my itchy scalp and smells nice and minty without being too much. Perhaps it is because the green tea and aloe bar made my hair feel extra smooth, but this bar seems to leave my hair a little more dry in comparison. It seems like I have to use a little more conditioner when I use this bar. It is still a good one to have in my rotation.

Hi Bailey, thank you for your review! Have you thought about trying a honey shampoo? The itchiness may be due to dryness of your scalp and not necessarily a scalp issue. Using a honey shampoo would help moisturize your hair and scalp more and you wouldn’t need as much conditioner if any at all. I also just want to remind you that your application and lather are important with using our shampoo bars. Make sure you are applying the shampoo bar everywhere. Apply more than you think you need. Then create a bountiful, fluffy, robust lather everywhere and rinse all of the shampoo out of your hair. Thanks!

My boyfriend has a very sensitive scalp and we’ve really struggled to find shampoos that don’t irritate or inflame, this has been great for him and is one of the only shampoos that doesn’t aggravate his eczema! I also tend to go longer than I should in between washes with my hair always being up for work so I really like how clean my scalp feels when I use this bar.
Melissa Babiak –
I like to rotate between the scents and I always get excited when it’s time for this one in the mix. It brightens up my morning shower with that crisp minty smell. My scalp, hair, and my senses feel so refreshed after using this one. The best way to wake up!

The mint leaves provides such a refreshing, yet subtle, scent and feeling to hair after washing. I started to notice dry scalp which seemed to be resolved almost immediately after opening the mint leaves and magnesium shampoo bar. The mint in the bar also leaves a refreshing feeling on skin

I have been using this shampoo for about a year now and I love it. My scalp used to get really dry and itchy during the colder months and now I don’t itch at all and no more dandruff in my beanie 🙂

I’ve gone through 4 or 5 of these minty soap bars. It is such a refreshing smell that wakes me up in the morning. One of my top 3 favorite scents here!
YESENIA LOAIZA –
I am a sucker for Eucalyptus!! This soap bar met every expectation. The scent and clean feeling was great. Lathers us a bit faster than the others for me. Helps also with the dandruff and the itchy feeling!
Perma-Earth –
Faster lather is from an older bar – the older the bar, then better the lather as it as cured more for longer. Thank you for the feedback!
Petra Prostran –
Are you a dandruff sufferer? Do you have an itchy scalp even right after showering? This bar is for you! I purchased this specifically because the description said it helped with itchy scalps and dandruff, and it came just in time for me to have a flare-up. I have now washed with this bar 4 times and there is a NOTICEABLE difference in reduced redness and itchiness. Plus, spearmint & eucalyptus smell amazing and leave you feeling sooo clean. I will be purchasing more of these in the future as it provides the same relief as chemical-laden dandruff shampoos.
Sara Pierson –
Absolutely love this scent. The smell of the shampoo bar fills the bathroom with a spa-like aroma. My hair didnt go through too much of a “detox” phase either which was nice when I switched over from my “salon” hair products. I’ve noticed my hair is much brighter and shinier now. My natural blonde highlights also seem more pronounced. 10 stars!!
