Aloe Vera Juice
Certified Organic Aloe Vera has many active ingredients and minerals to strengthen hair, its amino acids, vitamins, and minerals can contribute to healthy hair follicles.* Aloe Vera has enzymes that help break down fatty acids to cleanse your hair and scalp, assisting with improving dandruff and itchiness.* Aloe Vera contains a special chemical compound called “aloenin” that may improve hair and scalp health while decreasing breakage.*
Lard
Pasture-Raised, Pure, Hand-Rendered USA Lard feeds your hair and skin extra-nourishing balanced fatty acids and the world’s highest Vitamin D3 content, second only to cod liver oil. Lard has been used in haircare since medieval times for hair growth and hair health management. Our lard is carefully hand-rendered to keep its precious rare nutrients in-tact.
Lard is the 2nd fat in the world that is highest in Vitamin D3, second only to cod liver oil! Vitamin D3 is the most bioavailable form of Vitamin D. Vitamin D delivers a myriad of health benefits, including supporting healthy, long hair. As it turns out, Vitamin D3 is involved in various signaling pathways in the hair follicle and has a direct (and critical) role in the hair growth (aka anagen) phase. Topical application of vitamin D3 has been shown to render protection against damage caused to the skin by UV light. Vitamin D reduces cell death, promotes cell survival, and reduces redness and inflammation.
Since pasture-raised lard is lighter and softer in texture, slightly higher in unsaturated fatty acids, and higher in certain nutrients like Vitamin D3 – it makes a perfect fat base in our shampoo soaps, conditioners, and hair oils.
Pasture-Raised, properly fed lard is low on the comedogenic scale: it will not clog pores nor cause inflammation, in fact it may help with those issues. Since it is slightly higher in unsaturated fatty acids, it provides a more bubbly lather and a squeakier clean.
Our Lard is:
-
Slowly and carefully hand-rendered in our facility from the farm-fresh raw source
-
NEVER bleached or ultra-processed for a “white look”
-
Pasture-Raised from LOCAL and USA small family farms

Buttermilk
Local, Raw, Farm-Fresh, Grass-fed, Hand-Cultured Buttermilk to feed your hair the perfect food – high in essential vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fatty acids. Full-fat Jersey cow buttermilk is higher than goat milk in lactic acid and has the same moisturization content. The famously beautiful Egyptian Queen Cleopatra was a wise proponent, bathing in fresh buttermilk daily.
Buttermilk is high in multiple different proteins, vitamins, and minerals. Farm-fresh, raw buttermilk can have dozens of naturally occurring probiotics along with alpha-hydroxy acids like lactic acid, which promote cell renewal and rejuvenation of beauty factors such as brightness, tone, and complexion maintenance. Milk is considered a “complete protein” and “near-perfect food” meaning it contains all nine of the essential amino acids necessary for your body to function at an optimal level, plus all the essential Omega 3, 6, & 9 fatty acids in balanced proportions in addition to most of the vitamins and minerals your body needs. And buttermilk is even better! If raw milk can grow a baby calf into a cow within a few months, think of what it does to your hair!

I buy this one for my husband and he uses it as shampoo and body soap, it’s his favourite one. He has thick, dandruff prone hair& scalp so this works great for him. He also enjoys not having to use tons of different products. I’ve bought these several times for him already.

This is one of our go to bars in the winter when we sometimes get dry and irritated skin. This bar has a great scent and lathers well, plus it’s so healing for your scalp! When my baby had cradle cap it helped immensely with that as well. If you’re prone to dandruff or just want some extra scalp love, this is a must have bar!

Love the smell! So fresh and clean! The tea tree is awesome. I can go days without washing with this shampoo! Such a relief as a busy mom of two toddlers. It leave my hair soft and fluffy, I will definitely be buying this particular shampoo again. Thank you so much!
Melissa Babiak –
Such a great morning shampoo, it has that lovely ginger bite to wake you up. The tea tree gives the familiar cleansing tingle that is followed with a soothing fruity scent. Its definitely a potent smell in the shower, but not overpowering when your hair is dry.

I have an “itchy scalp” (per my dermatologist) that leads to dandruff. Although diet and sleep and stress all play a role in how bad it is, certain shampoos from Perma-Earth seem to help keep it under control (assuming I wash every day). I’ve tried a bunch of different shampoos over the past couple of years from Perma-Earth to see what works for me. While I enjoy the smell and the feel of this one, it sadly doesn’t work as well for my scalp health as the Tea Tree & Nettle one did. (So far, besides the Tea Tree & Nettle one that appears to be discontinued, Green Tea + Aloe and Calming Calendula seem to be the other ones that work – in case anyone reading this has what I have!)
Perma-Earth –
If you would like another Nettle Shampoo, we now offer 3 others containing it! see our “Herb & Hemp” soap series! 🙂

I’ve been using this product for a couple of years now and absolutely love it~it has helped my scalp as well as my color treated hair to remain soft and easy to manage. I don’t have to use any other hair products except their conditioner bar.
YESENIA LOAIZA –
I really like the tea tree scent and clean feeling it leaves on my scalp. I don’t feel like it’s a strong scent that lingers at all. Mixed with ginger it’s amazing to me.
lovethyalpaca –
I really love the tea tree shampoo! It feels very invigorating, and the smell is so fresh and clean. If you like the smell of tea tree, you will love this shampoo.
Jessica Tonka –
Love their shampoo bars! My hair is so much healthier now. I was losing my hair before starting their shampoos and now I never lose any hair. It doesn’t break or shed. I literally have like 5 hairs at most in the drain catcher, usually none at all. Before I would always at least have like 20 hairs or more. My hair brush would be full every time I brushed my hair. Not anymore. Love these bars! And this one is a nice mild scent with just essential oils.
Perma-Earth –
Thank you for the positive feedback Jessica, we are so happy to hear how our products have helped your hair, scalp, and skin!
Kristin Oconnor –
I bought this one to use on the kids, as they go back to school it was a must for the tea tree to help keep their heads clean. They surprisingly like the smell and it works great in their gentle, fine hair.
Erin Stanard –
First let me start by saying reading the instructions on proper use is a must, and the detox period has to be considered as well. I had used perma earth in the past but didn’t get the results I wanted because I wasnt taking these two things into account.
That being said, I gave this a second chance, and am very happy I did! My hair is very fine and gets greasy quickly, but after two washes I’ve already noticed a big difference in not only my texture and volume, but my hair has not gotten as oily as it normally does! Looking forward to the results with extended use.
Would definitely recommend!
