Our All-In-One Shampoo – Body – Shaving soap bars are also suitable for regular body washing, face washing (facial soap directions here), and shaving (shaving directions here). Our ingredients are LOW on the comedogenic scale – so your pores are nourished and cleansed, but never clogged.

Silk
Silk protein peptides strengthen and yet smooth hair bonds: silk is one of the strongest (yet softest) substances in the world and is a perfect addition to your haircare routine. Our real, natural silk comes from cruelty-free silk moth cocoons: the cocoons are harvested after the moths mature and leave the empty cocoon behind.
Lard
Pasture-Raised, Pure, Hand-Rendered USA Lard feeds your hair and skin extra-nourishing balanced fatty acids and the world’s highest Vitamin D3 content, second only to cod liver oil. Lard has been used in haircare since medieval times for hair growth and hair health management. Our lard is carefully hand-rendered to keep its precious rare nutrients in-tact.
Lard is the 2nd fat in the world that is highest in Vitamin D3, second only to cod liver oil! Vitamin D3 is the most bioavailable form of Vitamin D. Vitamin D delivers a myriad of health benefits, including supporting healthy, long hair. As it turns out, Vitamin D3 is involved in various signaling pathways in the hair follicle and has a direct (and critical) role in the hair growth (aka anagen) phase. Topical application of vitamin D3 has been shown to render protection against damage caused to the skin by UV light. Vitamin D reduces cell death, promotes cell survival, and reduces redness and inflammation.
Since pasture-raised lard is lighter and softer in texture, slightly higher in unsaturated fatty acids, and higher in certain nutrients like Vitamin D3 – it makes a perfect fat base in our shampoo soaps, conditioners, and hair oils.
Pasture-Raised, properly fed lard is low on the comedogenic scale: it will not clog pores nor cause inflammation, in fact it may help with those issues. Since it is slightly higher in unsaturated fatty acids, it provides a more bubbly lather and a squeakier clean.

Buttermilk
Local, Raw, Farm-Fresh, Grass-fed, Hand-Cultured Buttermilk to feed your hair the perfect food – high in essential vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fatty acids. Full-fat Jersey cow buttermilk is higher than goat milk in lactic acid and has the same moisturization content. The famously beautiful Egyptian Queen Cleopatra was a wise proponent, bathing in fresh buttermilk daily.
Buttermilk is high in multiple different proteins, vitamins, and minerals. Farm-fresh, raw buttermilk can have dozens of naturally occurring probiotics along with alpha-hydroxy acids like lactic acid, which promote cell renewal and rejuvenation of beauty factors such as brightness, tone, and complexion maintenance. Babassu Oil
Certified Organic Babassu Oil provides an extra foamy lather to build mounds of thick bubbles. This makes cleansing your hair an easier task without using pore-clogging palm or coconut oils. Babassu oil also helps maintain the hardness of your shampoo soap while in use and makes the bar last as long as possible in wet environments.
Olive Oil
Certified Organic, Cold-Pressed, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil has been used for thousands of years to make the best soaps in the world and is one of the major components of our shampoo bars. Olive oil provides a rich, smooth, silky shine to hair shafts while also retaining a mild, gentle cleanse. Olive oil is unique in that it’s very moisturizing, but not heavy.
Castor Oil
Certified Organic, Hexane-Free Castor Oil has been used for centuries to help heal damaged skin while also restoring new hair growth.* Also known as the “Palm of Christ”, its many priceless uses have yet to be overshadowed by any other known oil. Castor oil also helps to provide a thick, robust, and stable lather, while additionally strengthening the hair shafts and reducing split ends.
Jojoba Oil
Certified Organic Golden Jojoba Oil is actually a type of liquid plant wax that is claimed to be very similar to our skin’s sebum, providing a light moisturization without clogging pores. Jojoba oil has been very useful for haircare professionals, lending extra shine, strength, and manageability to hair health.
Abyssinian Oil
Abyssinian Oil is very similar to Argan oil but shown to be better in some ways. From multiple scientific studies, Abyssinian oil has been shown to provide superior protection against hair breakage and heat damage in professional salon settings. Shine and manageability are also markedly improved when incorporating Abyssinian oil into one’s haircare routine.
Kaolin Clay
Kaolin Clay helps detox your hair from the daily grime and air pollution from modern day living while also soothing and nourishing the scalp with trace minerals. This natural earthen clay assists with dandruff and encourages hair growth as well. For shaving, it lends an extra silky-smooth experience, but if a nick does occur – it helps stop and repair bleeding quickly. Just lather our soap on the area you need to shave and shave as you would normally (full shaving directions here).
Essential Oils
Pure and therapeutic-grade Essential Oils are included for a more natural scent and some therapeutic benefits. Please keep in mind that not including fragrances will reduce the scent hold, decreasing the linger time and strength compared to what many are used to with store-bought products. This is one of my favorite bars! I love this scent! My hair feels and smells incredible after using this bar. On the pricey side, but one of my go-tos. It is easy to use and lathers well. Hair definitely feels smooth after using it! Haven’t noticed a huge difference in shine and strengthened hair but assuming that takes time.

Is so fresh. I think after 2 years or so of using these shampoo bars, this one has become my favorite! I can’t even imagine going back to using normal shampoos, my hair has come such a long way since beginning use. It’s thicker and healthier in my 30’s than it was in my 20’s.

This shampoo bar has done wonders on my hair. Have been using Perma Earth for a couple years now and truly love all their products, but I am currently using this and noticing how soft, manageable, and not greasy my hair is after washing even days later. Very fresh scent! Cleanses skin and hair nicely and my scalp feels cool and refreshed. As long as I don’t forget the bars at home when I go out of town my hair continues to wash so well but if at anytime I use conventional shampoos and conditioners my hair has to go through a few washings with the bars to make it feel squeaky clean again and to be softer.

such a great product. Great light scent, smooth and soft on the skin and lathers wonderfully. Had some of the smoothest shaves and no dry skin after using. My hair tends to be dry at the bottom and greasy at the top and this has evened it out and helped decrease the fly aways for smooth soft and bright hair too!

I’ve tried many many different tallow shampoo bars and for some reason, this has lasted the longest. It’s easier to lather for some reason. Maybe it’s the bar or maybe I’m getting better at using these bars. Anyways, this bar is great. It smells like green gum tastes, if that makes sense, haha! It’s minty. Very nourishing to my hair. Love all of these bars. Because of the easy lather, I feel like this would be a great one to start out with if you are new to shampoo bars.

HI Lindsey! A big factor for soap lasting longer is the age of the soap: we recommend using soap that was made 9-12 months prior for the longest lasting plus it will still have a decent scent and nutrient retention in that time frame. We don’t recommend waiting longer than 3 years from manufacture date. We have the manufacture date and best by date on all of our product listings for future reference! 🙂

I love the refreshing scent of this bar. It’s just wonderful and reminds me of a cup of peppermint tea. I have been using organic shampoo bars for a long time so I did not have a detox period, however, I didn’t lather enough the first time I used this and it left residue in my hair. I purhcased this product for my mother and myself. I really enjoy it but have seen even more of a difference in my moms hair. She has very thin hair that used to get oily very quickly. She has been using this shampoo for about three weeks and her hair looks so much healthier, fuller (especially at the roots), and she can now go two days without shampooing. It has really been awesome to see that kind of change. This is one of my favorite shampoo bars! As someone else has mentioned, the scent is fresh, clean, and not overpowering in anyway. I’ve had nothing but good hair days since I ditched all conventional and green hair products and haven’t ever had a shampoo leave my hair as shiny as the tussah sea silk does. While I love exploring the other varieties Perma Earth offers, I plan on always having a bar of this on hand.

This was my very first shampoo bar. I have long, thick, wavy hair. Once I got the hang of the process (detox for me was about 2 weeks-I’m 44 yr old), I will never go back to bottled detergent shampoos! The scent of this soap is so fresh and leaves my hair feeling clean. My hair definitely has more wave definition and less frizz. I follow up with the unscented conditioner bar that I made into liquid. The fresh scent of the soap slightly lingers after conditioning. I am not big on scents, so this is perfect for me. I tend to prefer essential oils-I enjoy the scent in the shower or while using a product but then I am glad it fades away. 10/10!!

I’ve used vegan natural shampoo bars, and they were awful, made my hair greasy and stiff as a board. This….I’m still shocked. I don’t have to use apple cider vinegar rinse with it, which I thought I would. It leaves my hair silky smooth and tames the frizz too…gotten compliments with it. Absolutely obsessed with this. I didn’t expect to be this surprised by it. To not even have to use acv? Wow…. and I’ll add I did not use any conditioner too. Still SO silky and luxurious… It’s my favorite…. can’t wait to try the other shampoo bars. Also, leaves my skin sooooo incredibly silky, the softest feeling soap ever, hoursss later…absolutely LOVE it. Versatile and amazing…will continue to buy. Please continue making the mermaid one.
