I used the basic buttercream for a few months and my hair was clean, scalp no longer oily, ends a little dry, so always use the conditioner bar and leave in. I wanted to find something a little more moisturizing and I have found it. My hair feels super soft once dry, fluffy but in a good way, my wave is more pronounced. I love all the ingredients as does my hair. And it creates the loveliest amount of suds! I’m in love and will continue to use this bar from now on!

My usual Buttercream Shampoo was out of stock, so I tried this one and am glad I did. It made my coarser hair feel like silk. It is so hydrated and soft that I halved my conditioner. This one in particular has been amazing for shaving! Razors, no matter the procedure, always give me razor burn. I had even tried the buttercream. I had no razor burn at all with this one! I also use the PE conditioner to add a little bit more “slip.” I also used the bar on my sensitive face and body. It also made my skin feel so soft and silky. It is named perfectly – it’s the ultimate.

I started with the basic lard shampoo (Unscented Buttercream) and then tried this one (Ultimate Unscented). It is now my absolute favorite shampoo bar and makes all of my family’s hair soft, silky and perfectly clean. It offers more benefits with each wash than the basic lard shampoos. Will be our shampoo from now on!

I’ve been with perma earth for a little over a year now and after trying many many bars (which all have been great) this is the one I’ve landed on as my go to. It has a really nice lather and my hair is so soft and silky after. I really don’t even need conditioner with this but I use it just for added smoothness and frizz control because I live in a very humid area. I have long, mostly straight hair and this bar really is the cream of the crop when it comes to soft & silky smooth results. My hair feels so nourished and happy!

This was a nice shampoo bar that cleaned my hair well and didn’t dry out my curls.
Pros: Since it was unscented, I could use whatever conditioner scent that I wanted to without worrying about the scents clashing. The bar moisturized my hair well. This bar seemed to last a bit longer than some of the others I have tried.
Cons: There were a couple of times my hair felt like it had a layer of gunk on it after I used this bar. That very well could have been user error – maybe I didn’t rinse thoroughly, because this wasn’t always the case. When it would happen though, the next time I would wash my hair I would use this bar and follow it with an apple cider vinegar rinse and that took care of it.
All in all it is not my very favorite bar from Perma Earth, but it definitely is still a good one that I wouldn’t hesitate to repurchase.

Hi there, Thank you for the review. We would like to clarify a few things. You should never have a layer of gunk after washing with any of our shampoo bars. We wish you would have reached out before now so we could examine your washing technique. Our Ultimate Unscented is not a basic shampoo bar, it is our most complex and advanced shampoo bar we have. We would like to talk with you to see if we could find a shampoo bar that would work better for your hair or get some more information on the gunk that you speak of, because it may just be that your wording needs more clarification. It sounds like you may have some soap residue left in your hair. Remember the better the lather, the better the wash. I wanted to love this shampoo bar as it boasts so many wonderful benefits! It was very easy for me to lather, smelled fresh and definitely left my hair very bouncy, shiny and soft. My only issue is that all the goodness packed in for you hair was a little too over the top for my skin. I noticed I was breaking out on my forehead and temples after each use, so I backed off for a few weeks (using the egg yolk in its place) and it all cleared up. I tried the bar one more time, but had the same issue. My facial skin is ULTRA sensitive, so this isn’t any fault on PE’s part! The shampoo bar itself was GREAT on my hair, but just be cautious if you have experienced irritation on your face from shampoo drip down before!

Decided to try this, although I love the scented bars. Not sure if I figured out the perfect lather but this bar really lathers perfectly! Gives my hair the perfect wash and allows me to go days without washing/grease.

I don’t know if it’s the silk protein peptides or what, but this bar lathered like no other! Some of the other bars have thicker, more dense lathers, but this one has the lightest and smoothest suds. It rinsed so easy and left my hair feeling super clean and bouncy. These unscented ones are so fun and really nice to mix in with the more perfumey ones. I love to alternate them. Absolutely love this bar!

I get the BEST lather from this bar! It feels so luscious, and my hair feels so good after use. I have found that with all of these bars, my hair feels quite tangled until it dries, even when using the conditioner bar, but it feels a bit more manageable with this bar. It also feels like the conditioner bar doesn’t weigh my hair down as much when I use this shampoo bar. I will definitely buy more of these!

I would much rather have the Vitamin B5-Mg12-Keratin-Collagen-Silk complex than the fragrances so this was a perfect bar! I love the scents but for hair stuff, its just a bit superfluous for me. I genuinely think my hair is softer, less frizzy, and cleaner without the fragrance so this is my go to from now on!

So I also love the frankincense and keratin bar, but decided to switch to this one to get the added vitamins to help with hair growth. While I do miss the smell of the frankincense this one is also amazing, it lathers easily and washes out easy. I basically cannot live without these bars anymore and if I forget one while traveling it’s the worst! Anyone that has fine hair needs to use these, your hair will never be the same. My hair has ten times more volume and bounce when I use this vs a conventional shampoo. Not only that but my hair has NEVER grown past my shoulders in my entire life, now it’s almost mid back. It’s honestly life changing, I’ve spent thousands on extensions when all I needed was this shampoo. I can’t wait to see how long I can grow my hair now. I wish I had found Perma so much earlier!

I love that I can use this on my face and in my hair! It lathers up super quickly for me. I usually lather on my hair and then use the rest to scrub off mascara and do a quick face wash. My hair does feel slightly dry after but as so as I use the conditioner it feels great!
