However, this product was made in our one and only facility where we manufacture all of our products (scented and unscented). Therefore, atmospheric scent may or may not transfer over at a detectable level to any unscented product.
We take every precaution possible to reduce surface-level atmospheric scent transfers by:
- Using extra manufacturing tools ONLY for unscented products.
- Our “unscented” manufacturing tools are stored in completely separate containers.
- Cleaning and sanitizing ALL manufacturing tools and surfaces between each batch.
- NEVER letting our unscented products touch our scented products (either directly or indirectly)!
Please keep in mind that our shipping supplies are stored in our same small business facility where we make scented products, so they may have an atmospheric scent transfer.
If any atmospheric scent is detected by sensitive buyers, we recommend to allow the atmospheric scent transfer to dissipate:
- Remove the unscented products from all shipping materials and any materials around the product.
- Let the unscented product sit out naked (for a few days to a few weeks) in a dry atmosphere devoid of any scent with good air flow.
- Once you start using the unscented product, even the most sensitive users may not notice the surface-level atmospheric scent transfer disappears.

🪒 SHAVING SOAP
Lather with water on areas to be shaved (a shaving brush may help create a thicker lather), then shave areas covered with fresh lather. Rinse lather and shaved hair off with more water.

📏 Usage Rate
Recommended to use on any skin type that needs cleansing. Best used at least twice daily: upon waking in the morning and at night before bed, and used throughout the day as needed. If you have dry skin, try using our tallow butters after every wash!
⏳ Duration
Most users say that 1 bar of soap lasts them approximately 2-4 weeks if used generously and daily on large sections of the body, or approximately 2-4 months if used minimally on the hands and face.

Store in a dry place at room-temperature with surrounding airflow and immediate drainage.

I love this soap bar. It’s technically unscented but does have a delicate scent of lard that doesn’t bother me. I always like to have it on hand and it works great on all of my family, including my baby and toddler. Their skin is so soft and clean after using it. Over the years I have switched to as much non toxic/low tox products as possible and Perma Earth has made that very easy for us. I highly recommend this product.

Our household has tried many soaps from PermaEarth and this is probably the most moisturizing, it lathers well and even feels like thicker suds compared to the other soaps. My bars (bought 2) had a light but distinct farm smell, I didn’t mind it (nice reminder of the limited and fresh ingredients) but my partner did not enjoy the smell. I will likely purchase again as a hand soap! My hair and skin (very curly and fine) responded well to this one, as they have to all their other soaps, I only follow with their conditioner occasionally as the soap seems to be enough most days. Looking forward to trying more of their products.

I’ve bought this so many times I’ve lost count. It’s my go-to for gentle cleansing and moisturizing. Very clean, and as someone with sensitive skin, I’ve never gotten any sort of irritation from it, like with other soaps. I’ve also gifted this to others who have told me that they love it. I would like it to have more lather, but you honestly can’t have everything! Lol. This soap is as pure as they come, and I’ll always have it on hand!

HI Naomi! For a better lather with a lard soap, I would recommend our shampoo bars made with lard since they have other plant oils in it too that make it lather more 🙂 The lard by itself is a different lather for sure!

If enjoy aromatherapy, this probably ain’t for you. I love scents, the only reason I ordered this one was because it was the least expensive option to try out. It’s unscented but it does give off a smell. It’s very moisturizing, it also lathers well! If you have very sensitive skin, this is probably best for you.

Hi Diana! Thank you for your honest feedback, sometimes our unscented batches may have a slightly more “Farm-Fresh” smell than others due to the raw, organic ingredients from local, seasonal farms. Overall I do like this product! One bar lasted me a little over 2 months with washing my hair every other day. The photo and video show how big the bar started compared to after 2 months of use. Also, I was HIGHLY impressed that the bar didn’t break in those 2 months!! I have tried other bars before and they never seem to dry out fully after taking a shower, but this bar was amazing at staying hard and keeping shape! Greatly appreciated! The adjustment to being able to get it all washed out took the full 2 months for me. I have long, super fine hair, and a lot of it, so it was super hard to get it all washed out. It wasn’t hard to get a good lather but it was hard to get it all rinsed out. Now that I have finally cracked the code it’s feeling much better. Still a little heavier than I’m used to, but it has definitely improved. I figured out that I needed to wash my hair in sections. I start in the front and suds it up super well, rinse thoroughly, and then repeat with the next section further back. I do about 3 sections in total and that has allowed me to rinse my hair out the best! All in all, great product, but not completely ideal for my hair type 🙂

This was the first product I ever tried from Perma-Earth! I fell in love. My normally broken-out and oily back started to clear up after my first shower using Pure & Simple Lard & Buttermilk! I love the regular fat version of this for my skin as it is the perfect balance of cleansing and moisturizing! I happen to also use this one as a face wash!! It is gentle enough to not irritate my skin – and my rosacea is typically bothered by most products! I have also noticed the amount of flaking in my skin is next to nothing after using this!!! I give this a 10/10.

You may as well tack this body bar onto every order because why not?! For a great price point your skin and wallet will appreciate, this is the perfect product. While unscented, I found this makes little difference to me personally and I feel this bar lathers up slightly better in comparison to the Aloe-Spa body bar (also a great product). I highly recommend!

I have switched back and forth between store-bought “better” soaps and this lard soap from perma earth. There is no comparison. This lard soap is so much better. I use it on head hair and body.

Lard soap has changed my perception of clean. It gives a clean I have never felt, instead of “squeaky” clean, it’s more of a powdery feel without hands/skin feeling ashy afterwards. My hands and body are no longer feel dry, and lotion needs are next to none.
I will never use plant based “soaps” again.
