Sisal is a natural fiber derived from the long, green leaves of the ‘agave sisalana’ cactus plant. Sisal grows in semi-arid regions. Sisal fibers (which can be up to three feet long) are sustainably harvested by hand from the leaves of the cactus plant. Sisal is not the same fiber as coir or jute. Sisal is stronger and more durable than other natural fibers. In fact it is used for rope and twine.

I like having a natural and eco friendly alternative to the standard loofah. However, I did not think this soap bag kept its lather and it was a bit rough. I really only use it now to keep the soap pieces in when they get small and broken.

Love this thing! It’s a great way to make sure you use up all your soap bars and it works really well to wash and exfoliate. I think this would be great as part of a gift too.

This bag works well to hold your soap in the shower and provides a bit of exfoliation when you wash. I wish the string wasn’t quite as long as it gets in the way when using but overall I like it. I think it also makes the soap bars last longer.

This soap bag has been very helpful when my soap starts to fall apart. I have been using it for a few months now. However, I recently tore a small hole in it. Despite the small hole, it still works well.

Soap Bag, Well Used

While the soap bag is not necessarily the most attractive, it definitely enjoys regular use. I normally keep my soap in the bag and on my Perma Earth soap dish.

One of the best purchases I made in 2021. I still own this sisal soap bag and it’s without mold! Also, it gives you great exfoliation for wherever you need it. 🙂 It really does elongate the length of your soap’s life.

So I used to use a loofah, but after I read a story online about someone who had a spider lay eggs in it… and hatched while they used it… well. I threw that thing away quick!
This sisal bag is honestly one of the best buys I made on here. When your soaps and conditioner bars break down into itty bitty pieces, it’s hard to use them up. Not anymore with this bag. I put all the leftover pieces in here and use it for some minor exfoliation (it works really well for getting rid of scaly skin on your hands) as well as to help wash my body. I hang it up between each use and let it dry. It doesn’t smell and there has not been any mold. I really recommend this to help get the max use of the soap and conditioner bars.

I love this bag more then I thought I would! The lather is great, nice gentle exfoliate. I put my tiny pieces of left over soap in here. I love that there is no waste now!

I use this bag for my soap in the shower. I love this bag! I use it with the mud soap from this site. I love both the soap and bag. The bag makes using the soap so much easier. It lathers really nice. This bag has made a big difference.

This is ok. It kind of leaves thick layers of soap outside of the bag that tend to brown up pretty quickly but it gets the job done for dishes.
