For All Hair Types
Experience true food for your hair and skin with real, nutrient-dense, traditionally handcrafted soap made with old-fashioned ingredients. Our artisanal shampoo soaps are handmade with carefully curated local, grass-fed, pasture-raised, and organic ingredients – proudly sourced from small family farms and homegrown here in the USA. What we can’t source locally, we seek the highest quality: certified organic, minimally processed, and fair-trade ingredients to feed your hair and skin from the outside-in. No detergents or surfactants are used in any of our shampoos.
When washing properly, our basic unscented formula is suitable for all hair types used as-needed with an optional conditioner. Some scents and additional ingredients on top of our basic formula may alter results for each individual.
Top 3 Tips for Beginners:
-
Please keep in mind that scent information in this product’s scent tab is based on majority feedback.
-
Beginners, we recommend trying our unscented shampoo soaps first for the freshest, cleanest, and most simple start. Beginners will also want to educate themselves on the possibility of a short detox period and the correct washing technique.
-
Our All-In-One Shampoo – Body – Shaving soap bars are also suitable for regular body washing, face washing (facial soap directions here), and shaving (shaving directions here). Our ingredients are LOW on the comedogenic scale – so your pores are nourished and cleansed, but never clogged.

Activated Black Charcoal
Simply burnt hardwood, this charcoal has been heated to just the right temperature to “activate” a more detoxifying and absorbent molecular structure. Charcoal is naturally odor-absorbing, pulling away dirt, grime, and oils with its antibacterial and antifungal properties.*
Lard
Pasture-Raised, Pure, Hand-Rendered USA Lard feeds your hair and skin extra-nourishing balanced fatty acids and the world’s highest Vitamin D3 content, second only to cod liver oil. Lard has been used in haircare since medieval times for hair growth and hair health management. Our lard is carefully hand-rendered to keep its precious rare nutrients in-tact.
Lard is the 2nd fat in the world that is highest in Vitamin D3, second only to cod liver oil! Vitamin D3 is the most bioavailable form of Vitamin D. Vitamin D delivers a myriad of health benefits, including supporting healthy, long hair. As it turns out, Vitamin D3 is involved in various signaling pathways in the hair follicle and has a direct (and critical) role in the hair growth (aka anagen) phase. Topical application of vitamin D3 has been shown to render protection against damage caused to the skin by UV light. Vitamin D reduces cell death, promotes cell survival, and reduces redness and inflammation.
Since pasture-raised lard is lighter and softer in texture, slightly higher in unsaturated fatty acids, and higher in certain nutrients like Vitamin D3 – it makes a perfect fat base in our shampoo soaps, conditioners, and hair oils.
Pasture-Raised, properly fed lard is low on the comedogenic scale: it will not clog pores nor cause inflammation, in fact it may help with those issues. Since it is slightly higher in unsaturated fatty acids, it provides a more bubbly lather and a squeakier clean.
Our Lard is:
-
Slowly and carefully hand-rendered in our facility from the farm-fresh raw source
-
NEVER bleached or ultra-processed for a “white look”
-
Pasture-Raised from LOCAL and USA small family farms

Buttermilk
Local, Raw, Farm-Fresh, Grass-fed, Hand-Cultured Buttermilk to feed your hair the perfect food – high in essential vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fatty acids. Full-fat Jersey cow buttermilk is higher than goat milk in lactic acid and has the same moisturization content. The famously beautiful Egyptian Queen Cleopatra was a wise proponent, bathing in fresh buttermilk daily.
Buttermilk is high in multiple different proteins, vitamins, and minerals. Farm-fresh, raw buttermilk can have dozens of naturally occurring probiotics along with alpha-hydroxy acids like lactic acid, which promote cell renewal and rejuvenation of beauty factors such as brightness, tone, and complexion maintenance. Milk is considered a “complete protein” and “near-perfect food” meaning it contains all nine of the essential amino acids necessary for your body to function at an optimal level, plus all the essential Omega 3, 6, & 9 fatty acids in balanced proportions in addition to most of the vitamins and minerals your body needs. And buttermilk is even better! If raw milk can grow a baby calf into a cow within a few months, think of what it does to your hair!
Our Buttermilk is:
-
Slowly and carefully hand-cultured from the farm-fresh raw source
-
When the farm-fresh raw buttermilk arrives in our facility, it is frozen and used first-in, first-out to ensure the best nutrient content
-
Grass-Fed and Pasture-Raised from LOCAL small family farms

Babassu Oil
Certified Organic Babassu Oil provides an extra foamy lather to build mounds of thick bubbles. This makes cleansing your hair an easier task without using pore-clogging palm or coconut oils. Babassu oil also helps maintain the hardness of your shampoo soap while in use and makes the bar last as long as possible in wet environments.
Olive Oil
Certified Organic, Cold-Pressed, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil has been used for thousands of years to make the best soaps in the world and is one of the major components of our shampoo bars. Olive oil provides a rich, smooth, silky shine to hair shafts while also retaining a mild, gentle cleanse. Olive oil is unique in that it’s very moisturizing, but not heavy.
Castor Oil
Certified Organic, Hexane-Free Castor Oil has been used for centuries to help heal damaged skin while also restoring new hair growth.* Also known as the “Palm of Christ”, its many priceless uses have yet to be overshadowed by any other known oil. Castor oil also helps to provide a thick, robust, and stable lather, while additionally strengthening the hair shafts and reducing split ends.
Jojoba Oil
Certified Organic Golden Jojoba Oil is actually a type of liquid plant wax that is claimed to be very similar to our skin’s sebum, providing a light moisturization without clogging pores. Jojoba oil has been very useful for haircare professionals, lending extra shine, strength, and manageability to hair health.
Abyssinian Oil
Abyssinian Oil is very similar to Argan oil but shown to be better in some ways. From multiple scientific studies, Abyssinian oil has been shown to provide superior protection against hair breakage and heat damage in professional salon settings. Shine and manageability are also markedly improved when incorporating Abyssinian oil into one’s haircare routine.
Kaolin Clay
Kaolin Clay helps detox your hair from the daily grime and air pollution from modern day living while also soothing and nourishing the scalp with trace minerals. This natural earthen clay assists with dandruff and encourages hair growth as well. For shaving, it lends an extra silky-smooth experience, but if a nick does occur – it helps stop and repair bleeding quickly. Just lather our soap on the area you need to shave and shave as you would normally (full shaving directions here).
Mica Mineral Pigments
A very small amount of Cosmetic-Grade Mica Mineral Pigments helps each soap look unique and attractive in their own special color for a fun experience! This also lessens confusion between other soaps during use. Will not clog pores, or stain surfaces. This is the same main ingredient in natural cosmetic make-ups.
Fragrance Oils
Phthalate-Free and Paraben-Free Fragrance Oils are included for a familiar and comforting scent. Did you know that most body care shoppers make their purchase decisions based solely on scent satisfaction? The olfactory system is directly related to emotions and memories, which is why scents are such an important factor for many. Please keep in mind that not including phthalates and parabens will reduce the scent hold, decreasing the linger time and strength compared to what many are used to with store-bought products. Learn more about our safer fragrance oils HERE and read about this product’s scent and scent strength in the product’s scent tab.
Don’t settle for anything less than the absolute best for your hair and skin

Haley Lawrence –
This soap is literally perfect for the hunter in the fam. My husband has used it so much this hunting season already, and it does and smells exactly like it should. It’ll make you camouflaged out in the woods, and you don’t have to worry about damaging toxic ingredients. I think its fantastic they made this!

If you have a hunter in your family, this scent would be a HIT for them. My husband LOVES this scent for season. It is wild how well it smells like an outdoor scent and also a woodsy smell at the same time. It’s like if the woodland outdoors was bottled, this would be it. Unlike a lot of “non-scent” smells for hunting it smells real and not so fake and strong. Aside from being a hunter and or outdoorsman, it would be good for anyone who just likes a general outdoorsy smell.
Janet Hardy –
I purchased this scent after reading another review but it is on the bottom of my scent list. It would be great for hunters but it smells more like the pond in my pasture. I powered through my 5 bars because the soap is still a great product. I was happy when I could get back to my precious Bourbon & Whiskey. APPROVED
Ashleigh Price –
I purchased this for my hubby so he’d stop stealing my Perma Earth shampoos- he really likes the scent, and his hair always smells fresh and earthy when he uses it. Will buy again! APPROVED
Sarah Hamilton –
This is definitely more of a manly smell and I love when both my son and husband finish up a shower using using this scent. They have said that their skin feels smooth and they look forward to using this scent every day.
Shannon Van Parys –
When this bar first arrived and I smelled it, I was like “oh NO, nope, this is too much, not for me”. But I figured I could use it on my son hahaha. Well wouldn’t you know it, as it sat in his bathroom- every time I walked into the room, the scent was very much in the air and it grew on me more and more. And now I love it! Hahaha. Walking into our bathroom now is like walking into a garden after it has rained, when everything is fresh and alive- that’s the scent- of rich dirt and moss and leaves. I went from “I’m never getting this again” to “I can’t wait to get another bar”. Definitely a great scent for men but I’m looking forward to having my own hair smell like it too!
gkb1687 –
I got this for my 9.5 year old son who is into everything outdoors. I wanted to get him out of the junk shampoo world as I did for myself and thought this would be perfect. We were a little taken back how this bar smells like dirt! But not in a bad way. He was excited to have his friends smell his head! Haha it had a light dirt smell when dried but very nice and clean.
allenwewd –
Bought this bar for my partner, he loves smelling like dirt and wet moss. His har is fluffy and beautiful without leaving any residue. Certainly buying again!

I was looking for an unscented soap to use for hunting because I don’t want to use the usual chemical-filled soaps. When I came across this one, I just had to buy it if only to test it out, but I love it! It lathers well without stripping/ drying out your skin and actually smells like dirt. I also love that I can use it in my hair without the worry of drying it out. Thank you!
