Moisturize your skin and lips with the best and most gentle 6 ingredients on the planet:
  1. Local Grass-Fed Pasture-Raised Tallow
  2. Certified Organic Grass-Fed Pasture-Raised Ghee
  3. Local Raw Beeswax
  4. Local Raw Honey
  5. Pure Lanolin
  6. Organic Non-GMO Vitamin E
An additional ingredient to this flavored lip balm is a skin-safe flavor oil.
The base ingredients may still be detectable even through the flavor additions: so if it seems a bit like buttery steak with a hint of cheese, lamb, and sweet honey, that’s the integrity of our ingredients shining through!

Countless benefits…

  • Tallow is an excellent moisturizer used to soothe dry skin. It’s thick enough to handle the toughest rough patches, but light enough to absorb quickly into the skin. High-quality tallow is said to be loaded with the bioavailable forms of vitamins A, D, E and K, plus full of essential fatty acids not commonly found in common modern day skincare. Your skin absorbs these nutrients just like nicotine from a quit-smoking patch – or even a deadly dose of poison from handling a toxic frog. Our skin does utilize external applications – whether good or bad. Consider this the next time you slather chemical-laden balms on your skin!
  • The longer you consistently use tallow, the less you will need, as tallow actually helps to balance and regulate your skin. This isn’t an advantage for the seller, but it is fantastic for the consumer! Tallow regulates the skin to rely LESS on moisturizers, instead of training it to depend on MORE moisturizers over time. Therefore, tallow IMPROVES your skin over time, instead of subtly and slowly making it become dependent upon outside moisture, like chemical lotions do.
  • Tallow resembles our natural sebum (skin oil) and absorbs into the skin easily, which helps to balance the skin’s sebum production after a cleanse. Pair this with the fact that high-quality tallow is non-comedogenic (will not clog pores when used correctly) – and you have a skin-match success for any skin type!
  • The Vitamin D3 found in tallow induces the expression of antimicrobial peptide genes in human skin and plays a significant role in preventing opportunistic infections.
  • Moreover, grass-fed tallow contains conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). CLA helps skin retain moisture by boosting ceramide synthesis in skin cells; this fortifies the skin barrier and helps to retain moisture in the skin. CLA is a natural ingredient that allows for skin renewal without harsh chemicals or treatments. CLA is naturally anti-inflammatory and may significantly slow signs of skin aging when used consistently for prolonged periods of time.
  • Tallow is usually a wasted product that is thrown away after an animal’s carcass has been butchered. Instead we purchase it, which further supports our small farmers. This means that regeneratively farmed tallow products grown on free-range pastures are actually preferred for the environment – when considering the other options that are: not local, highly-processed in factories, and farmed industrially.
  • All of the naturally-occurring tallow nutrients in their bioavailable forms are more recognizable to our bodies, which means our bodies can utilize them better in their whole, organic state. This places tallow in a tier above all other skincare ingredients: a long-forgotten skincare secret that was well-known by our ancestors over 150 years ago. Now, we have the skincare science and consumer testimonies to prove it!

Our Ingredients

Tallow

This isn’t just any tallow you can buy online, this is:
  • Slowly and carefully hand-rendered in our facility from the farm-fresh raw source
  • NEVER bleached or ultra-processed for a “white look”
  • 100% grass-fed and grass-finished
  • LOCAL small family farm-raised

Ghee

  • USDA Certified Organic
  • 100% Grass-Fed and Grass-Finished
  • Clarified Butter from USA Grass-Fed Cattle
  • Ghee is a rich source of Vitamins A, D, and E and antioxidants help to maintain your skin’s elasticity. Therefore, applying ghee to your skin may help reduce wrinkles and give you a younger look.
  • You can use ghee as a moisturizer for dry skin. Apply ghee to your skin after washing to lock in moisture and prevent dryness. Your skin absorbs ghee easily. It won’t leave a greasy residue. If you apply this daily, it penetrates the tissues and hydrates your skin regularly.
  • Regular consumption of ghee enhances your skin complexion and supports a more balanced skin tone. You can find a natural shine in your clean, blemish-free skin.
  • A deficiency in omega-3 fatty acids is responsible for skin dryness and uneven tone. However, ghee is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. It also reduces skin inflammation and rashes in your skin.
  • Dermatologists suggest that carotene from ghee acts as an antioxidant, reduces oxidative stress damage, and keeps your skin healthy. Research also claims that the carotene from ghee protects your skin from photodamage caused by UV radiations of sunlight and prevents aging.

Beeswax

  • Local, Raw, Unprocessed, Real Beeswax
  • Beeswax forms a protective barrier on the skin’s surface, protecting your skin from environmental irritants and harsh weather. Beeswax is particularly exceptional being non-comedogenic (non-pore blocking, very unlikely to clog pores), while also allowing the skin to breathe freely. This makes beeswax particularly beneficial for acne-prone and sensitive skin.
  • The protective barrier formed by beeswax not only protects from external threats, but also locks in moisture to prevent water loss, therefore helping your skin stay soft and hydrated.
  • Beeswax has fantastic skin-softening properties and enhances skin elasticity, helping reduce the signs of aging.
  • Beeswax is anti-allergenic, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and a germicidal. These properties make beeswax a highly stable base ingredient, thus extending the product’s life. But importantly, this makes beeswax particularly beneficial for those with sensitive skin as beeswax will unlikely cause skin irritation.

Lanolin

  • Lanolin is used as a powerful emollient to help prevent dry, rough, scaly, itchy skin and minor skin irritations.
  • Emollients are substances that soften and moisturize the skin while decreasing itching and flaking.
  • Lanolin has the dual benefit of being both semi-occlusive and semi-permeable, meaning it allows your skin to self-hydrate from within while simultaneously acting as a breathable skin barrier.
  • Made from the thick oil of pasture-raised sheep’s hair, this is an irreplicable animal-based ingredient in luxurious and effective skincare.

Honey

  • Raw, local, real honey – honored since ancient times as a priceless health food, as well as an irreplaceable ingredient for skin care products.
  • Honey has emollient (moisturizing) and humectant (moisture-drawing) properties that add hydration to dry skin types.
  • Its natural humectant properties seal in, attract moisture, and prevent future moisture loss, which is great news for itchy and dry skin.
  • Aside from moisturizing, honey also harbors anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, showing promise for acne-prone skin.

Organic Non-GMO Vitamin E

This isn’t your regular (questionable) Vitamin E, this is:
  • Only derived from USDA Certified Organic sunflowers – NO soy, wheat, gluten, or synthetic ingredients – there is no other purer Vitamin E on the market.
  • Natural Vitamin E (d-Alpha Tocopherol) boasts 2X (200%) more skin absorption and bioavailability for our bodies to utilize than synthetic “vitamin e”. The most obvious differences between the two types is where Vitamin E is sourced and they even have different chemical names. “dL-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate” (synthetic Vitamin E) comes from petrochemicals. Meanwhile, “d-Alpha Tocopherol” (natural Vitamin E) is made from the natural nutrients of plant oils.
  • Perfect to help keep our natural butter balms shelf-stable longer by dramatically slowing oxidation, rancidity, and UV damage. Unless you want your butter balms to have an expiration date of 3-6 months from manufacture date, this ingredient is crucial.
  • Wonderful for skincare. Vitamin E is an invaluable asset for skin moisturizers, as it speeds healing and increases moisture-retention for next-level youthfulness. Vitamin E has also been scientifically shown to prevent the breakdown of collagen.
  • An absolute necessity in our butter balms for better shelf-stability and beautiful lips and skin…

Flavor Oil

  • Flavor oils, commonly known as extracts, are a substance made by extracting a part of a raw natural material, often by using a solvent such as another oil. The specific ingredients are protected as company copyright trademarks such as a perfume would be.
  • If you would not appreciate a special flavor oil as what goes into some foods, then we recommend our essential oil butter balms or our unscented butter balm.

  1. maryleeb41

My husband, myself and my sons love this lip balm. It is not over powering and it has a great “taste”. It’s not like typical lip balm where it is overwhelming or has too strong of a taste. Works very well for some of the worst chapped lips despite feeling like a novelty scent. Reminds me of a version of the old lipsmackers but a grown up version that actually works. =) I love all of the lip balm textures but this scent and taste is one of the best.

  2. Melissa Babiak

My kiddos just go bonkers for this one (along with the watermelon)! They think it tastes and smells just like cake batter. I’m so grateful to have found products that my family loves and I can stand behind. Thank you Perma-Earth!

  3. tkmarlow

YUM this scent is so good! Leaves my lips buttery soft – I use daily and love it! Can’t wait to try other scents/flavors @t.k.marlow APPROVED

  4. Shannon Van Parys

Smells delicious, feels amazing, keeps my lips moisturized despite our harsh, cold, dry Canadian winters. What more could you ask for? @ol_shannie
