Why Arrowroot?
Our motto is to feed your hair and skin from the outside-in™ and we intend to do just that with our line of dry shampoo powders, made to extend time between regular shampoo soap washes. We tested many dry shampoos before finally landing on a simple recipe of 100% arrowroot powder as the base of our entire formula, for multiple reasons:
- ABORBS excess oils very well – this is very important for dry shampoo!
- MINIMAL residue compared to any other natural dry shampoo we tried. Arrowroot powder leaves your hair silky soft and easy to brush through!

NO SCENT OF ANY KIND WAS ADDED AS AN INGREDIENT TO THIS PRODUCT!
However, this product was made in our one and only facility where we manufacture all of our products (scented and unscented). Therefore, atmospheric scent may or may not transfer over at a detectable level to any unscented product.
We take every precaution possible to reduce surface-level atmospheric scent transfers by:
- Using extra manufacturing tools ONLY for unscented products.
- Our “unscented” manufacturing tools are stored in completely separate containers.
- Cleaning and sanitizing ALL manufacturing tools and surfaces between each batch.
- NEVER letting our unscented products touch our scented products (either directly or indirectly)!
Please keep in mind that our shipping supplies are stored in our same small business facility where we make scented products, so they may have an atmospheric scent transfer.
If any atmospheric scent is detected by sensitive buyers, we recommend to allow the atmospheric scent transfer to dissipate:
- Remove the unscented products from all shipping materials and any materials around the product.
- Let the unscented product sit out naked (for a few days to a few weeks) in a dry atmosphere devoid of any scent with good air flow.
- Once you start using the unscented product, even the most sensitive users may not notice the surface-level atmospheric scent transfer disappears.

Store in a room-temperature, dry place out of direct sunlight.
We recommend using within 1 year of first use for best results, as scents and contents fade and break down faster over time once disturbed.
- Before getting dressed, shake out desired amount directly on to hair and scalp or into palm of hand.*
- Spread powder onto hair and scalp in desired areas where there is excess oil present.
- Break clumps of powder into find dust by brushing through hair with brush or comb, getting rid of most white residue appearance.
- Use as desired between shampoo soap washes; dry shampoo is never intended to replace shampoo soap washes completely.

This product has worked well for extending the time between washing my hair! After it goes on there is no white residue left which I initially was afraid of. Also, I purchased the glass jar version about a year ago and I still have a couple weeks of use left!

Overall I think the product works well. It is a little awkward to use- you basically have to dump it into your hand and rub it into your hair, which is less convenient than the aerosal spray or “puff” bottles- but I like that the container is more environmentally friendly and it still gets the job done. I also had the same issue with the sticker not being secured when I first opened the package so I got an explosion of powder in my face. I use the white powder- my hair is dark blonde- and it disappears, which I appreciate. I will continue using this product, might try the blond tone although so far am happy with the plain white powder.

Update: We have fixed this issue with the stickers coming up by adding eco-wrap to the top and securing with the cap so that the powder will not fill up the cap during transit 🙂

There is an option to lightly tip the tube above your head so that it will sprinkle a little where you want it to go by tilting your head, but applying by hand can give more control with a powder. Our instructions online and on the label do include this as an up-front option for your healthier dry shampoo. I am sorry to hear you do not enjoy this process. I am also sorry to hear your sticker came like this, our team applied them by hand and we thought they were stickered securely. Perhaps transit and air pressure differences caused the sticker to loosen? It is good to know to use caution while opening any of the lids. We checked ours on the shelf and all the stickers are still secure! We are happy to know that you are still enjoying the product despite these inconveniences!

This stuff works nicely. I find it’s best to just dump a little in my hand and then put it where I want it at my roots. I have light brown hair and the white works well. It soaks in and doesn’t stay white at all. I will say the lid is annoying to get on and off though. And mine came with the sticker half peeled up and powder exploded out when I opened it.

I’ve been trying to find dry shampoo that is natural, works, and has a good delivery system. This stuff works fantastic! It looks as if I just blow dried my hair and does not add excess build up.
