Regenerative Animal-Based Ingredients
Lard
Pasture-Raised, Pure, Hand-Rendered USA Lard feeds your hair and skin extra-nourishing balanced fatty acids and the world’s highest Vitamin D3 content, second only to cod liver oil. Lard has been used in haircare since medieval times for skin health, hair growth, and hair health management. Our lard is carefully hand-rendered to keep its precious rare nutrients in-tact.
Lard is the 2nd fat in the world that is highest in Vitamin D3, second only to cod liver oil! Vitamin D3 is the most bioavailable form of Vitamin D. Vitamin D delivers a myriad of health benefits, including supporting healthy skin and hair. As it turns out, Vitamin D3 in its activated form does all the wonders on your skin regeneration and other metabolic functions in the skin. Vitamin D3 is also involved in various signaling pathways in the hair follicle and has a direct (and critical) role in the hair growth (aka anagen) phase. Topical application of vitamin D3 has been shown to render protection against damage caused to the skin by UV light. Vitamin D3 reduces cell death, promotes cell survival, and reduces redness and inflammation.
Pasture-Raised, properly fed lard is low on the comedogenic scale: it will not clog pores nor cause inflammation, in fact it may help with those issues. Since it is slightly higher in unsaturated fatty acids, it provides a more bubbly lather and a squeakier clean.
Our Lard is:
-
Slowly and carefully hand-rendered in our facility from the farm-fresh raw source
-
NEVER bleached or ultra-processed for a “white look”
-
Pasture-Raised from LOCAL and USA small family farms

Buttermilk
Local, Raw, Farm-Fresh, Grass-fed, Hand-Cultured Buttermilk to feed your skin the perfect food – high in essential vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fatty acids. Full-fat Jersey cow buttermilk is higher than goat milk in lactic acid and has the same moisturization content. The famously beautiful Egyptian Queen Cleopatra was a wise proponent, bathing in fresh buttermilk daily.
Buttermilk is high in multiple different proteins, vitamins, and minerals. Farm-fresh, raw buttermilk can have dozens of naturally occurring probiotics along with alpha-hydroxy acids like lactic acid, which promote cell renewal and rejuvenation of beauty factors such as brightness, tone, and complexion maintenance. Milk is considered a “complete protein” and “near-perfect food” meaning it contains all nine of the essential amino acids necessary for your body to function at an optimal level, plus all the essential Omega 3, 6, & 9 fatty acids in balanced proportions in addition to most of the vitamins and minerals your body needs. Earthen Ingredients
Himalayan Salt
-
Extra-Fine ground Himalayan salt is a pink-colored salt extracted from the Khewra Salt Mine, which is located near the Himalayas in Pakistan. The Khewra Salt Mine is one of the oldest and largest salt mines in the world.
-
The pink Himalayan salt harvested from this mine is believed to have been formed millions of years ago from the evaporation of ancient bodies of water. The salt is hand-extracted and minimally processed to yield an unrefined product that’s free of additives and thought to be much more natural than table salt.
-
Like table salt, pink Himalayan salt is mostly comprised of sodium chloride. However, the natural harvesting process allows pink Himalayan salt to possess many other minerals and trace elements that are not found in regular table salt.
-
Some people estimate it may contain up to 84 different minerals and trace elements. In fact, it’s these very minerals, especially iron, that give it its characteristic pink color. (2) All of these minerals aid our body’s natural detoxification process and promote the removal of bacteria.
Sulphur
-
Sulfur is well-known for its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
-
Sulfur works to absorb excess oil that causes acne by drying out the surface of the skin and unclogging pores.
-
Sulfur works to exfoliate dead skin and remove impurities.
-
Sulfur is a dermatologist-favorite because it kills bacteria, fungi, and various parasites.
-
While it does have similar effects to benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, sulfur is typically better tolerated than those two former treatments.
Activated Black Charcoal
-
Activated charcoal effectively cleanses the skin, unclogs pores, removes deeper impurities, and dead skin cells. The result is smooth, supple, and even-toned skin.
-
Activated charcoal is made by burning wood until it has small pores that increase its surface area, resulting in a highly absorbent, ultra-fine, black powder.
Bentonite Clay
-
Bentonite clay works like a sponge on your skin. It absorbs dirt and oil, like sebum. Too much sebum can lead to acne.
-
The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties may help your skin heal.*
120 PPM Colloidal Silver
-
SOOTHES acting as an effective anti-inflammatory that restores skin regeneration on sensitive scalps.*
-
PURIFIES removing subcutaneous inflammation. It quickly fights bacteria, viruses and fungi present on the scalp and hair, also recommended before an anti-hair loss and anti-dandruff treatment.*
-
NORMALIZES giving immediate relief to scalp and hair.*
Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide)
-
Niacinamide may be helpful for severe acne, especially inflammatory forms like papules and pustules. Over time, you may see fewer lesions and improved skin texture.
-
It’s also known to increase keratin, a type of protein that keeps your skin firm and healthy. (Source)
-
When it comes to aging skin, niacinamide improves the surface structure, helping smooth out skin’s texture and reduce the look of wrinkles.
-
Niacinamide can help your skin grow a ceramide (lipid) barrier (Source), which can, in turn, help retain moisture.
-
Keeping skin smooth and moisturized (Source) may have a secondary benefit — a natural reduction in pore size over time.
-
Some research has found 5% niacinamide concentrations can be helpful in lightening dark spots. Benefits were seen after four weeks. This benefit may be due to increased collagen production.
-
Research has also found that the same concentration was helpful in reducing some signs of sun damage that come with aging. This includes fine lines and wrinkles.
-
Temporarily increases topical circulation upon application, which may cause a reddish tint that fades away in minutes – this means it’s working to bring more nutrients and plumpness to the skin’s surface!

Top 6 Benefits of Aloe Vera for Skin with scientific explanations:
1. Soothing Sunburns and Skin Injuries
Aloe vera soothes sunburns and skin injuries by increasing collagen synthesis and cross-linking. This helps reduce any resulting scar tissue and speeds up wound healing. Aloe also contains compounds called aloin and anthraquinones, which have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits that can help alleviate pain and promote healing.
But take heed: Aloe vera should only be applied to mild-to-moderate 1st & 2nd-degree burns—more severe burns need to be treated in a medical facility.
2. Moisturizing Skin
Since aloe vera contains humectants (substances that attract water from the air or from deeper in the skin), it’s thought to be especially beneficial for dry skin types. Aloe specifically contains mucopolysaccharides, which bind moisture into the skin. It also has cohesive effects by sticking together flaking epidermal skin cells, resulting in softer skin and improved skin integrity.
3. Fading Dark Spots and Stretch Marks
There are two compounds in aloe that may fade dark spots and stretch marks: aloesin and aloin. In one study, aloesin was applied four times per day for 15 days and was found to be effective in treating UV-induced and post-acne hyperpigmentation. Another study found aloin destroyed melanin cells (an overproduction of which causes dark spots to form) in pigmented cells by blocking activity of tyrosinase, an enzyme responsible for melanin production.
4. Managing Acne
Aloe vera contains naturally occurring salicylic acid, urea nitrogen, cinnamic acid, phenols and sulfur—all of which inhibit the growth of fungi, bacteria and viruses. It also has anti-inflammatory capabilities, which suppresses P. acnes, the bacteria that causes acne. Salicylic acid is currently one of the best ways to prevent acne, since it sheds dead cells from the outer layer of the skin and decreases redness and inflammation.
5. Soothing Skin Conditions
Flare-ups of psoriasis—an inflammatory condition that causes red, itchy and scaly patches—may be better managed with aloe vera in the mix, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties. Ditto eczema, a skin condition that causes your skin to become red and itchy and more prone to fungal and bacterial infections: Aloe has antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties that may soothe eczema by hydrating and protecting it from contaminants.
6. Slowing Signs of Aging
Because aloe vera contains vitamins C and E, it stands to reason it may help prevent the formation of free radicals, which are the molecules that cause cell damage. Meanwhile, the salicylic acid it contains acts as a gentle exfoliant—and once those pesky dead skin cells are out of the way, your other skin-care products might better penetrate the surface and do their thing more effectively as a result.
Turmeric
-
Turmeric is packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that can benefit the skin.
-
Turmeric can help curb bacteria that causes acne. By reducing the skin’s inflammation, it can help heal the skin.
-
If you have struggled with acne and you’re left with scars, try a turmeric face mask. The skin-brightening agents can brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of scars.
-
By reducing dark spots and hyperpigmentation, your skin looks naturally even and radiant.
-
The curcumin found in turmeric can stimulate collagen production, making your skin appear more youthful.

Karin Pinheiro –
I tried this instead of the Face the Day soap that I’ve been using. I wanted to try this because of it’s exfoliating and anti-inflammatory ingredients and to mix up my routine and to see how this worked. My skin feels smooth and soft after use. No yellowy tinge from the turmeric! My skin responded well to this. No breakouts after the first wash. This seems like a better option for those with oily skin. Sometimes if I use something too drying or exfoliating, my face breaks out. That didn’t happen with this. Not sure which bar I like better! This exfoliates well while being gentle on skin. Highly recommended for oily/sensitive skin.
Alina George –
My face feels so clean after using this as a facewash. Due to the sea salt, it creates a nice exfoliating texture, but it’s not harsh, so I use it daily with no problem! I also think it’s great for all skin types. I wouldn’t say my skin is oily, and even though it’s recommended for oily skin, mine did great with it.
