Why Arrowroot?
Our motto is to feed your hair and skin from the outside-in™ and we intend to do just that with our line of dry shampoo powders, made to extend time between regular shampoo soap washes. We tested many dry shampoos before finally landing on a simple recipe of 90% arrowroot powder as the base of our formula, for multiple reasons:
- ABORBS excess oils very well – this is very important for dry shampoo!
- MINIMAL residue compared to any other natural dry shampoo we tried. Arrowroot powder leaves your hair silky soft and easy to brush through!
- Does NOT DISRUPT the hair’s natural microbiome and pH levels!
- ODORLESS – nada, nothing, zip, zilch, ZERO smell!
- NATURAL & ORGANIC: no worries about toxic chemicals seeping into your scalp and bloodstream!
- NOURISHING with naturally-occurring vitamins and minerals that are great for hair and scalp health such as: magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, B9 Folate, Sodium, and more!

However, this product was made in our one and only facility where we manufacture all of our products (scented and unscented). Therefore, atmospheric scent may or may not transfer over at a detectable level to any unscented product.
We take every precaution possible to reduce surface-level atmospheric scent transfers by:
- Using extra manufacturing tools ONLY for unscented products.
- Our “unscented” manufacturing tools are stored in completely separate containers.
- Cleaning and sanitizing ALL manufacturing tools and surfaces between each batch.
- NEVER letting our unscented products touch our scented products (either directly or indirectly)!
Please keep in mind that our shipping supplies are stored in our same small business facility where we make scented products, so they may have an atmospheric scent transfer.
If any atmospheric scent is detected by sensitive buyers, we recommend to allow the atmospheric scent transfer to dissipate:
- Remove the unscented products from all shipping materials and any materials around the product.
- Let the unscented product sit out naked (for a few days to a few weeks) in a dry atmosphere devoid of any scent with good air flow.
- Once you start using the unscented product, even the most sensitive users may not notice the surface-level atmospheric scent transfer disappears.

Store in a room-temperature, dry place out of direct sunlight.
We recommend using within 1 year of first use for best results, as scents and contents fade and break down faster over time once disturbed.
- Before getting dressed, apply desired amount directly on to hair and scalp.*
- Spread powder onto hair and scalp in desired areas where there is excess oil present.
- Break clumps of powder into find dust by brushing through hair with brush or comb, getting rid of most white residue appearance.
- Use as desired between shampoo soap washes; dry shampoo is never intended to replace shampoo soap washes completely.

This was the first time i have ever used dry shampoo. This os pretty cool! I use this before I need to wash my hair to help tame the oily roots. A little goes a long way and applies well with a large makeup brush. It adds some volume and a little texture with my wavy hair. Glad i bought this. I dont mind the glass jar is a little messy. If you take your time, you can eliminate the mess and not waste product.

It was a bit of a learning curve with making sure I didn’t get this on my skin, clothes, or counter/floor, but it’s definitely worth it. This looks amazing in my hair and feels great. No more chalky feeling, artificial scents, white residue, or waiting for it to dry to be effective. Besides the learning curve, which I’m totally fine with, the color comes out when shampooing and leaves a brown residue in my tub. I still think it’s definitely worth it, especially since I’m washing less frequently (using other perma earth products) and not needing to use dry shampoo as often anyway. So this is going to last me much longer than a typical bottle of dry shampoo, too.

Pros: I am pleased with the efficiency of this dry shampoo! It absorbs greasiness well and leaves my hair soft and adds volume. I love that the ingredients are natural and I have the option for a chemical free dry shampoo.
Cons: I do not like the sparkle it’s leaves on my head. I have darker brown hair, and this dry shampoo gives my hair a lighter and sparkly brown color on the top of my head. And when I shampoo my hair, the brown color ends up sticking to my bathtub.
Overall, I love what the powder does for my hair and that it has natural ingredients. I do not like the color and the issues it presents.

Answers to the issues presented:
We are able to wash off the color from white tubs/showers with no issues, NO permanent staining has occurred! We first wanted to make that clear for others who may wonder what you meant.
In addition, we are not sure of a color option that would get rid of all the possibility of color rubbing off onto surfaces: you will still need to wipe the color off of washing surfaces if you do not rinse it off completely with water first after the wash.
And we are currently testing more matte color options without the sparkle that natural mica gives. We will also test what those non-mica colors will do to the tub/shower when it washes out. We will update our formula when we make new batches only if testing goes well.

Yes please let me clarify, the brown color does wash off the tub! It does not stain. And the only reason it sticks to the tub in the first place is because I take a lot of baths. If you are a shower only person, this may not even be an issue for you.
And thanks for recommending the snow white dry shampoo. That just may work better for me!

While it took a bit of time to determine how to use this without making a mess (careful tapping and brush application) I am now fully satisfied with this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a safe alternative to commercial dry shampoos! The only downside is a shiny glittery look to the powder.

Thanks to Perma Earth, I don’t have to rely on chemical dry shampoos anymore. I used to be a heavy user years ago until I came to PE and COVID hit (scrub caps came into fashion for us healthcare workers). So no one would know if my hair was in between washes because it was covered up and I didn’t need to use it. On days where I needed to go somewhere and didn’t have time to wash my hair, I turn to this now. I never felt like dry shampoos really “worked” for me- they just made my hair look dull. I love this colored brunette dry shampoo! The mica sparkles add a little extra something and gives the appearance of shinier hair without the grease. I’m still learning to apply it (and follow the instructions for opening it) but I really like it so far. I’m glad I can use something non toxic from my favorite brand.

I’ve purchased generic dry shampoo from time to time and have always been disappointed or just freaked out by the ingredients. This product is amazing! It works really well to get that extra day between washes. It’s easy to apply and I love that I can pick one for my hair color so it blends more easily. The powder itself is so pretty, I’ve been tempted to use it as eye shadow….I may try it sometime!

It works well on my hair, I sprinkle some into my hand and apply directly onto my scalp, rub it in and I’m good to go. My hair looks clean and full for most of the day after. So that’s great, but just a warning, do not travel with this. When I traveled with this, every time I’d get it out of my suitcase, it exploded absolutely everywhere no matter how nicely I placed it. When it came in the mail after first purchasing it, it also came a mess and the lid didn’t seem to be on all the way. Good product, love it for my hair, but packaging could be better

We are doing our best to improve the way the ecoshampoo is arriving due to the hot temperatures we have had to change a few things as that is contributing to air pressure issues. So we have added an eco-shrinkwrap to the cap of all of our shampoos so that it should help a lot during shipment in this way. However when you take it traveling you may have to put it in something else or add your own plastic wrap cover to it (let some stick out the side when you put the cap on so that you can hold onto the extra tightly when you pull the cap off).
