Egg Yolk

Raw, Pasture-Raised, Free-Range, Organic-Fed, Local Egg Yolk nourishes your hair with superfood benefits. Egg yolks have an abundance of healthy vitamins, necessary minerals, moisturizing fatty-acids, and hair-building proteins to give your hair everything it needs for success, a list so long that it would be hard to look at it all here. The humble yet time-honored chicken egg is loaded with healthy fats, which help replenish moisture and make strands look sleek and shiny. And because hair is 80% protein, applying protein-rich eggs to hair can help replace the protein lost through styling, making hair stronger and better able to stand up to heat. Some natural beauty proponents claim that applying egg yolks to the hair and scalp can stimulate hair growth. Egg yolk is rich in the vitamins that may make hair more resistant to damage. Oat Oil

Derived from the seed kernel of the Avena sativa, or oat plant, oat oil is gaining popularity in hair products for its ability to provide dense nutrition with a lightweight consistency. Often aimed to reduce inflammation and provide soothing hydration, oat oil has many hair and skin uses. Many scalp conditions involve a combination of dryness and irritation, so it’s easy to see why oat oil is especially useful in these instances. Oat oil is a great hydrator and anti-inflammatory agent, its main benefits include soothing the scalp, hydrating the hair and scalp, and improving the elasticity of hair strands. In general, oat oil is great for curly, dry, coarse, frizzy, or damaged hair. Those with dry scalp conditions will also benefit from the nourishment and hydration of oat oil.

Olive Oil

Certified Organic, Cold-Pressed, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil has been used for thousands of years to make the best soaps in the world and is one of the major components of our shampoo bars. Olive oil provides a rich, smooth, silky shine to hair shafts while also retaining a mild, gentle cleanse. Olive oil is unique in that it’s very moisturizing, but not heavy.

 

Castor Oil

Certified Organic, Hexane-Free Castor Oil has been used for centuries to help heal damaged skin while also restoring new hair growth.* Also known as the “Palm of Christ”, its many priceless uses have yet to be overshadowed by any other known oil. Castor oil also helps to provide a thick, robust, and stable lather, while additionally strengthening the hair shafts and reducing split ends.

 

Jojoba Oil

Certified Organic Golden Jojoba Oil is actually a type of liquid plant wax that is claimed to be very similar to our skin’s sebum, providing a light moisturization without clogging pores. Jojoba oil has been very useful for haircare professionals, lending extra shine, strength, and manageability to hair health.

 

Abyssinian Oil

Abyssinian Oil is very similar to Argan oil but shown to be better in some ways. From multiple scientific studies, Abyssinian oil has been shown to provide superior protection against hair breakage and heat damage in professional salon settings. Shine and manageability are also markedly improved when incorporating Abyssinian oil into one’s haircare routine.

 

Kaolin Clay

Kaolin Clay helps detox your hair from the daily grime and air pollution from modern day living while also soothing and nourishing the scalp with trace minerals.   • Hair Growth – Our shampoo bars tend to cause faster and thicker hair growth. As a side-effect, more frequent root colorings/treatments may be needed for colored/treated hair.
  • Colored & Treated Hair – Our shampoo bars tend to have no effect on the shade of permanently colored hair or texture treatments. However, semi or demi-permanent hair-colorings or texture treatments can wash out faster due to the vigorous washing method required for a natural shampoo soap lather. We ask you to weigh your priority of healthier, thicker and faster-growing hair with your semi-permanent hair treatments. Please consider a more permanent hair color shade if you do need to color your hair.
  • More Curly/Textured Hair – Our shampoo bars are sulfate-free and totally natural, therefore they will strengthen the natural disulfide bonds in your hair, which will bring out your natural hair texture. Your natural hair texture usually has more volume, curl/texture, and definition than what you were getting with detergent or surfactant shampoo products.
  • It often takes more time and effort to use natural shampoo bars, but it’s well worth it in the end. Not only do you end up with more naturally nourished hair, you also end up with a cleaner environment!

On average, 1 shampoo soap will last most experienced users around 2 weeks of daily use, or about 14 hair washes on average.

Hair length, thickness, texture, and level of oil/grease/dirt to cleanse will affect this number. The longer, thicker, dirtier, and more textured your hair is, the more you will need to apply for a good wash. Another factor that will affect duration is if one is using the bar for more than just hair washing: for example, as a body soap and as a shaving soap in addition to a shampoo.

    I knew switching over to shampoo bars would be a labor of love, and the thorough instructions included with these bars further solidified that! Here is some context.. I have pretty long hair (reaches my bum!). I also have used expensive, big name branded shampoos and conditioners for several years now, as my hair care routine was one that I have always struggled to transition to fit my more natural lifestyle. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, I began realizing those expensive hair products were contributing to hair loss and thinning, a phenomenon I have never really experienced. I am 22 years old, and in great health, so that is not a great sign. I bit the bullet with Perma Earth because I am a huge advocate for the ingredients found in these products, and supporting small farms and businesses!
    I will say, you have to be committed to this endeavor if you’re new to these products. This is the biggest “trust the process” I have ever embarked upon, and it can be extremely daunting! Admittedly, after the first two washes, I did not recognize my hair anymore– and not in a good way. The detox is no joke. I felt like my hair was covered in a greasy, thick wax, which nearly left my hair in dreads! I opted to wash once a day because I am rather busy and my hair takes (what feels like) 1-2 business days to dry naturally. By day 4, I started to question my methods because it wasn’t getting any better! I read the full instructions several times, read a few blogs, and even found an old tutorial on Perma Earth’s YouTube channel. I think I am doing it right?
    I even did a bentonite clay mask on my hair– which I think helped A TON! I saturated it on my scalp, and after washing that day, my roots were incredibly soft and clean feeling.
    By day 7, all of the hair past my shoulders still felt like I had dipped them in candle wax! Everything above, though, felt beautifully soft and clean, even pure, if that makes sense!
    The detox continued to make its way down my hair, which might have been taking much longer because of how long my hair is and my history with chemical-filled products. Once it has been detoxed, and the hair has been properly washed, you will have baby soft hair!
    My advice to newbies: follow the instructions down to the last detail, and if you have long, thick hair, consider using clay and apple cider vinegar to help chug that detox along!

    This shampoo bar was nice, it smelled more mild to me compared to others. Works just fine like the other shampoo bars, but I think some of the other scents I did prefer more. I think some of these ingredients would be great for your hair health, but I don’t really use any of them long enough to notice any particular benefit from a single bar. I’m sure I would though if I purchased this over and over again.

    I have only used one bar of this shampoo so far and I’m considering purchasing another one so that I may see the benefits of the ingredients. I wash my hair about 1x-2x weekly so it may take some time to see the benefits, but I really like the ingredients of this shampoo bar.

    This was the first bar I bought from Perma Earth and started my hair recovery journey. Traditional salon products and years of bleaching left my hair with much to be desired. It was brittle, dry, straw-like. My hair began to fall out in clumps after switching from Redken to Olaplex’s hair system. My hair desperately needed remedying. After hours of research I found Perma Earth and never looked back. Since I was a newbie with this bar, it did take a couple tries to get the lather correct. Once I did, I noticed my hair was quickly making a turnaround for the better. I now feel so confident with my hair and it’s the most healthy it’s ever been. I’ve been using the shampoo bars for about 8 months consistently and will never use anything else on my hair again. Thank you Perma Earth for saving my hair!

    I absolutely love the scent of this shampoo bar! I normally only wash my hair once or twice a week, and had been using mostly sulfate free shampoo before this, so I didn’t really have any detox symptoms. Even if I had, washing my hair twice a day would not have been feasible for me as my hair would have been constantly damp for days if I’d done that. I have wavy/curly hair that I’ve only just recently started figuring out how to take care of, and have definitely noticed an improvement in my curl pattern with this shampoo bar but am not convinced yet that this is THE bar for my hair, and suspect I need one with more protein in it. I had not been using a protein/strengthening shampoo before this, though, so I didn’t want to go too heavy too fast.

    This was one of the first bars I ever tried, I loved the scent and have been meaning to incorporate it back into my routine. Finally did and it was the first bar I used from the one’s I ordered. Fell in love with this bar all over again, my hair feels so hydrated and full after use. As well as very soft. My favorite thing is that the scent lasts for many days after washing, its the first thing I smell after taking my hair out of my silk cap every morning and I love it. I’ll continue to use this one, love it.

    Love this shampoo bar! It definitely takes practice & patience but making the switch to these shampoo bars is so worth it! This shampoo bar left my hair feeling very soft! I get so excited to wash my hair now.

    I got this for my daughter. She has baby fine, wavy hair that tangles easily. This bar helps her hair retain some moisture, so her waves really come out. Along with a conditioner, her hair is so soft! I can’t wait to try the new conditioners. We also love this scent. She is almost 4, so we use a silicone shower visor to keep the soap out of her eyes.

    Along with eating a nutrient dense diet, this egg yolk based shampoo bar really helped with post partum hair loss. After one wash (following the detailed instructions on how to use the bar), I saw a big difference in terms of greasiness, dandruff and the amount of hair that fell out. Now I only have to wash my hair once every 5 days, it’s shiny, and it is no longer falling out (5 months PP). IG: @k_ho_jo

    This was my first shampoo bar. I struggled to get the technique down in the beginning and it would leave a residue but when I contacted the perma-earth gal(who is very quick to respond) she let me know to use more than I think I need until I get a thick fluffy lather. She was so right and its been smooth sailing ever since. I have thick frizzy hair and this works great on my hair. I only did four stars on this because the scent wasn’t my favorite. I paired it with the apple conditioner bar and that gave me the sweet scent I was looking for. This bar was also good as an exfoliating body bar. I think because of the oatmeal it has rougher texture.. @arianacannell IG

    While I really love the look and smell of this bar, I find it a bit more difficult to lather in my hair than the other bars I have tried (lotus, miracle mud, buttercream). It certainly has a heartier texture, it’s not quite as smooth as the others. I am going to try a different shower head… I love these bars so much I want to do whatever I can to make them work!

    The smell of this bar is the absolute best! It smells like oatmeal cookies and decadent honey, it’s intoxicating! I switched from the Miracle Mud shampoo bar (which I used for ~6 months) to try a sample of this bar (which lasted about a month) and I would say that it is tough to tell which one works better because they both work so great! Both lather really well and leave my hair feeling clean with no waxy residues. I have continued new hair growth and beautiful shine. I love using shampoo bars from Perma-Earth’s, they work fantastically!

    I’m telling everyone! This is my absolute favorite shampoo! After only a week using Perma Earth I threw away my other shampoos. The scent is so good and it works well. It was a bit of a learning curve for me but once I got it, the results were magical!

    Wow! I have been using this for a week and am loving it!! I’ve always had an issue with shampoos leaving my hair greasy in places (maybe my part for not scrubbing properly?) but this leaves my hair so nice and smooth. I’ve noticed less frizz and my waves becoming more defined. I could wear my hair natural no product! Also it seems great too 🙂

    This is my first order with Perma-Earth. I watched the YouTube instructions prior to using the shampoo. First, I found the video was very helpful as I have never used bar soap on my hair before. Second, the shampoo lathered up much quicker than I thought. The process was effortless! Lastly, the scent is very nice! Unlike, the chemical scent I got from my other liquid shampoos.

    I ordered a slightly damaged bar for this and it’s worked out perfectly fine. There is a slight crack but it hasn’t been an issue. The scent is lovely and just like all the others, it lathers nice— it does have a stronger scent. It feels like a really big bar in comparison to my others, bulkier. Will definitely last me a long time if only used as shampoo!
