Honey
Raw, local, real honey – honored since ancient times as a priceless health food, as well as an irreplaceable ingredient for hair and skin care products. Honey has emollient (moisturizing) and humectant (moisture-drawing) properties that add hydration to the hair follicles. This naturally smooths the hair shaft and restores shine and luster to frizzy, dry, curly, or dull hair. Its natural humectant properties seal in moisture to prevent future moisture loss, which is also helpful for itchiness, dryness, and dandruff on the scalp.* Honey is a natural softener, which makes it a superpower ingredient in any hair elixir. Honey also naturally contains antioxidants and nutrients that improve your hair and scalp’s overall wellness, strengthening your hair and encouraging growth.* Honey is especially good for dry, curly, frizz-prone hair. Aside from moisturizing, honey also harbors anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, which help fight the bacteria and fungus that cause dandruff. Lemon Peel
Lemon peel powder can treat dandruff and control itchiness on the scalp. It helps balance the pH level of your scalp and reduces excess oil secretion, two major contributing factors in dandruff. Additionally, its anti fungal and antibacterial action helps fight scalp infections.
Golden Brazilian Clay
This is a kaolin clay rich in the mineral potassium. This golden clay has a high capacity to exchange electrolytes with skin and hair, having a purifying and astringent effect. It has also been clinically proven to repair the hair’s cuticles.
Lard
Pasture-Raised, Pure, Hand-Rendered USA Lard feeds your hair and skin extra-nourishing balanced fatty acids and the world’s highest Vitamin D3 content, second only to cod liver oil. Lard has been used in haircare since medieval times for hair growth and hair health management. Our lard is carefully hand-rendered to keep its precious rare nutrients in-tact.
Lard is the 2nd fat in the world that is highest in Vitamin D3, second only to cod liver oil! Vitamin D3 is the most bioavailable form of Vitamin D. Vitamin D delivers a myriad of health benefits, including supporting healthy, long hair. As it turns out, Vitamin D3 is involved in various signaling pathways in the hair follicle and has a direct (and critical) role in the hair growth (aka anagen) phase. Topical application of vitamin D3 has been shown to render protection against damage caused to the skin by UV light. Local, Raw, Farm-Fresh, Grass-fed, Hand-Cultured Buttermilk to feed your hair the perfect food – high in essential vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fatty acids. Full-fat Jersey cow buttermilk is higher than goat milk in lactic acid and has the same moisturization content. Babassu Oil
Certified Organic Babassu Oil provides an extra foamy lather to build mounds of thick bubbles. This makes cleansing your hair an easier task without using pore-clogging palm or coconut oils. Babassu oil also helps maintain the hardness of your shampoo soap while in use and makes the bar last as long as possible in wet environments.
Olive Oil
Certified Organic, Cold-Pressed, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil has been used for thousands of years to make the best soaps in the world and is one of the major components of our shampoo bars. Olive oil provides a rich, smooth, silky shine to hair shafts while also retaining a mild, gentle cleanse. Olive oil is unique in that it’s very moisturizing, but not heavy.
Castor Oil
Certified Organic, Hexane-Free Castor Oil has been used for centuries to help heal damaged skin while also restoring new hair growth.* Also known as the “Palm of Christ”, its many priceless uses have yet to be overshadowed by any other known oil. Castor oil also helps to provide a thick, robust, and stable lather, while additionally strengthening the hair shafts and reducing split ends.
Jojoba Oil
Certified Organic Golden Jojoba Oil is actually a type of liquid plant wax that is claimed to be very similar to our skin’s sebum, providing a light moisturization without clogging pores. Jojoba oil has been very useful for haircare professionals, lending extra shine, strength, and manageability to hair health.
Abyssinian Oil
Abyssinian Oil is very similar to Argan oil but shown to be better in some ways. From multiple scientific studies, Abyssinian oil has been shown to provide superior protection against hair breakage and heat damage in professional salon settings. Shine and manageability are also markedly improved when incorporating Abyssinian oil into one’s haircare routine.
Kaolin Clay
Kaolin Clay helps detox your hair from the daily grime and air pollution from modern day living while also soothing and nourishing the scalp with trace minerals. This natural earthen clay assists with dandruff and encourages hair growth as well. For shaving, it lends an extra silky-smooth experience, but if a nick does occur – it helps stop and repair bleeding quickly. Pure and therapeutic-grade Essential Oils are included for a more natural scent and some therapeutic benefits. Please keep in mind that not including fragrances will reduce the scent hold, decreasing the linger time and strength compared to what many are used to with store-bought products. We recommend using within 1 year of first use for best results, as scents and contents fade and break down faster over time once disturbed.
On average, 1 shampoo soap will last most experienced users around 2 weeks of daily use, or about 14 hair washes on average.
Hair length, thickness, texture, and level of oil/grease/dirt to cleanse will affect this number. The longer, thicker, dirtier, and more textured your hair is, the more you will need to apply for a good wash. Another factor that will affect duration is if one is using the bar for more than just hair washing: for example, as a body soap and as a shaving soap in addition to a shampoo.

I love the natural smell of citrus essential oils, so this soap is one of my favorites! It is a beautifully uplifting scent that is perfect for summertime or anytime of the year. The lather is more subtle than soaps you buy in a store, but it’s still enough to shave and get clean.

This shampoo smells so good! I smell the lemon more than the honey in it, but I do love it. It’s a nice little change. I think this is perfect shampoo for spring and summer because it reminds me of iced lemonade! But the real kind. Yum.

This bar is citrusy and sweet with a little bit of herb- it reminds me of what it would be like to drink a glass of cool lemonade on a hot day in the garden (if I had one). Now that it’s cold and snowy out I’ll cling to whatever reminds me of warmer days and this is definitely it. It’s a very refreshing scent.

I love the clean ingredients in these shampoo bars. The lemon in this one smells so good! I personally didn’t find it as moisturizing as the Tussah Sea Silk shampoo bar, but I do tend to have drier hair in general.

My hair & skin both love this yummy blend of Raw honey and lemon peel! As a shampoo, I find it offers a nice thorough cleanse, but enough moisture to not allow those fly-away’s to get out of hand! It lathers up nice, and I find it super easy to apply!! As a body wash, I found it leaving my skin feeling replenished and smelling delightful! The Round Bee shape is so fun and it sets it apart from the other bars in the shower.

I was ready to give up on shampoo bars. I experienced terrible build up and my hair always felt gross. Someone suggested this company. I never used animal products on my hair, I always searched for vegan shampoo because I thought it was better. Was I wrong. I can’t get enough! I want to wash my hair everyday (even though I don’t need too) because I love it that much. My hair feels and looks clean, it’s so soft and smooth. My natural curls and highlights are coming back and my hair isn’t frizzy or dry. The scent is so refreshing as well. It’s not too strong which I like. My scalp doesn’t itch anymore, and I’m noticing new growth. I use it for a body wash and a shaving cream as well. I don’t get razor burn anymore, my skin is so soft after I get out of the shower. It stays that way too. Most soaps make me feel dry a few hours later, not this stuff. I’m obsessed.

I don’t typically go for citrusy scents when I cant pick it up and smell it before buying simply because citrus can be a huge migraine trigger for me. I used my knowledge of how other products smell and the fact that they use natural ingredients to make the decision to buy before smelling. I was not disappointed. It’s a very light scent and I can’t wait to use it on my hair next!

I have been looking for a natural shampoo with lemon and honey to help gradually bring out some highlights. I’ve only used it once so far and I really like it! I thought the scent was pretty strong when I smelled the bar dry, but it leaves only a very light and pleasant honey/lemon scent when you wash with it. My hair is super soft and clean! This is my first-time using a bar soap on my hair, so I did an ACV rinse before washing with this bar because I wanted to avoid the detox phase, and it totally worked!! So, if there is anyone struggling with getting your hair adjusted to these bars, rinsing with apple cider vinegar helps remove a lot of the old build up from commercial hair products. After the gunk is removed, it will help these tallow soap bars penetrate the hair follicles better and give you the best results! Don’t hesitate, just buy it!
