Deeply Moisturize & Nourish Dry or Frazzled Hair

Unscented, any scent detected is due to the nature of the ingredients listed below
Most consumers would say this product’s scent is only due to the nature of the ingredients (smells a bit like sesame seed oil, olive oil, and lard)

How To Use

  • Use as a weekly hair treatment on the entire hair and scalp or just on the ends: apply heavy layer and wrap hair in towel – let sit for 30 minutes to 1 hour, and then wash out with our shampoo soaps, finish rinse with our conditioner bars. Style as usual.
  • Use as a daily or weekly leave-in treatment on the tips of the hair: apply lightly to ends of hair – brush through and scrunch in hair. Style as usual. If this is too heavy for your hair type for a leave-in product, then use it as a treatment described above before washing out. If you are looking for a light leave-in moisturizer for styling, try our conditioner bars or conditioning spray.

Our Luxurious Organic Ingredients

Lard

Pasture-Raised, Pure, Hand-Rendered USA Lard feeds your hair and skin extra-nourishing balanced fatty acids and the world’s highest Vitamin D3 content, second only to cod liver oil. Lard has been used in haircare since medieval times for hair growth and hair health management. Our lard is carefully hand-rendered to keep its precious rare nutrients in-tact.
Lard is the 2nd fat in the world that is highest is Vitamin D3, second only to cod liver oil! Vitamin D3 is the most bioavailable form of Vitamin D. Vitamin D delivers a myriad of health benefits, including supporting healthy, long hair. As it turns out, Vitamin D3 is involved in various signaling pathways in the hair follicle and has a direct (and critical) role in the hair growth (aka anagen) phase. Topical application of vitamin D3 has been shown to render protection against damage caused to the skin by UV light. Vitamin D reduces cell death, promotes cell survival, and reduces redness and inflammation.
Since pasture-raised lard is lighter and softer in texture, slightly higher in unsaturated fatty acids, and higher in certain nutrients like Vitamin D3 – it makes a perfect fat base in our shampoo soaps, conditioners, and hair oils.
Pasture-Raised, properly fed lard is low on the comedogenic scale: it will not clog pores nor cause inflammation, in fact it may help with those issues. Since it is slightly higher in unsaturated fatty acids, it provides a more bubbly lather and a squeakier clean.
Our Lard is:
  • Slowly and carefully hand-rendered in our facility from the farm-fresh raw source
  • NEVER bleached or ultra-processed for a “white look”
  • Pasture-Raised from LOCAL and USA small family farms

Olive Oil

Certified Organic, Cold-Pressed, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil has been used for thousands of years to make the best soaps in the world and is one of the major components of our shampoo bars. Olive oil provides a rich, smooth, silky shine to hair shafts while also retaining a mild, gentle cleanse. Olive oil is unique in that it’s very moisturizing, but not heavy.

Castor Oil

Certified Organic, Hexane-Free Castor Oil has been used for centuries to help heal damaged skin while also restoring new hair growth.* Also known as the “Palm of Christ”, its many priceless uses have yet to be overshadowed by any other known oil. Castor oil also helps to provide a thick, robust, and stable lather, while additionally strengthening the hair shafts and reducing split ends.

Jojoba Oil

Certified Organic Golden Jojoba Oil is actually a type of liquid plant wax that is claimed to be very similar to our scalp’s sebum, providing a light moisturization without clogging pores. Jojoba oil has been very useful for haircare professionals, lending extra shine, strength, and manageability to hair health.

Abyssinian Oil

Abyssinian Oil is very similar to Argan oil but shown to be better in some ways. From multiple scientific studies, Abyssinian oil has been shown to provide superior protection against hair breakage and heat damage in professional salon settings. Shine and manageability are also markedly improved when incorporating Abyssinian oil into one’s haircare routine.

Avocado oil

  • Certified Organic Persea gratissima oil made by pressing the fruit around the pit of the avocado. Avocado oil contains vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that can help keep a person’s hair strong and healthy. It is high in monounsaturated fats and is known to help enhance the absorption of carotenoids and other nutrients. Avocado oil can also help treat dry, flaky, and irritated scalps.
  • Using this oil, you could potentially see a reduction in dandruff as avocado oil is very moisturizing. Using avocado oil may be a great option for you if you experience dryness or breakage. Avocado oil can stimulate blood flow and unclog blocked follicles, these effects may help fight hair loss.
  • In addition, avocado is enriched with multiple important vitamins such as vitamin A, E, B6, C, K, folic acid, potassium, magnesium, sodium and niacin. Avocado oil is a good source of vitamin E, potassium and lecithin. When these nutrients are applied to the skin, they get easily absorbed due to the light medium of the oil. Naturally, the moisturizing elements of avocado oil improve the dry and rough texture of the hair and scalp.

Baobab Oil

  • USDA Certified Organic. MAIN BENEFITS: Strengthens hair, fights frizz, and deeply hydrates. WHO SHOULD USE IT: Anyone looking for stronger, smoothed, or conditioned hair.
  • Much like in the skin, omega fatty acids found in baobab oil are also moisturizing for the hair cuticle and so can be used topically in the management of dry and frizzy hair. Its abundance of hydrating vitamin E also makes baobab oil helpful in the management of a dry scalp.
  • The oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and other fats, including palmitic acid, oleic acid and linolenic acid. These are great if your hair is dry or processed, meaning color-treated or highlighted.
  • The vitamin A in baobab oil assists with dandruff by speeding cellular turnover and thus acting as a chemical exfoliant,” Dr. Maiman says. “It also increases blood flow to the follicle, which may optimize delivery of vital nutrients and oxygen for hair growth and health.
  • The baobab plant is rich in vitamin C. Vitamin C is a critical cofactor in the synthesis of collagen and elastin, important proteins that make up the bulk of the dermis (the thicker, meatier part of the skin). Being that it is a major constituent of the dermis, collagen supports the scalp’s thickness. A thin scalp devoid of sufficient collagen is more susceptible to injury and is less capable of holding the hair follicle bulbs in place. Age-related collagen degeneration and dermal scalp thinning may be partly to blame for the thinning that tends to naturally occur as we get older.
  • The scientific name for the baobab tree is Adansonia digitata. In Africa, people call it “the tree of life” and “the pharmacy tree” because of its many beneficial uses. The baobab tree’s figure is iconic in Africa: a tall, thick trunk that looks like it is upside down with its roots in the air. The baobab tree is actually a succulent, which means that during the rainy season it absorbs and stores water in its vast trunk, enabling it to produce a nutrient-dense fruit in the dry season when all around is dry and arid. The fruit alone has 7 to 10 times more vitamin C than an orange! This is how it became known as “The Tree of Life”.
  • Baobab oil has calcium, iron, vitamin B, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, and manganese. This plant oil is packed full of healthy omega 3 fatty acids that can help with softening the scalp, flaking, elasticity and may help heal the scalp’s barrier and lock in moisture.

Sesame Oil

Certified Organic sesame seed oil is great for your hair, although highly nutty in aroma. It has been used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine to prevent premature hair graying, help prevent lice, protect the hair and scalp from UV rays, fight dandruff, hydrate the scalp, and repair damaged hair.

Squalane

Our squalane is sustainably sourced from organic olives. Squalane is a natural pre-curser to the scalp’s production of squalene. Moisturizing your hair can help increase shine and prevent breakage. Hair has its own natural oils – yet weather, age, diet, and heat damage can dry out locks. Squalane can replenish your strands and protect your hair from further damage by mimicking the hair’s natural production of this liquid gold.

Vitamin E

This isn’t your regular (questionable) Vitamin E, this is:
  • Only derived from Non-GMO Certified Organic sunflowers – NO soy, wheat, gluten, or synthetic ingredients – there is no other purer Vitamin E on the market.
  • Natural Vitamin E (d-Alpha Tocopherol) boasts 2X (200%) more skin absorption and bioavailability for our bodies to utilize than synthetic “vitamin e”. The most obvious differences between the two types is where Vitamin E is sourced and they even have different chemical names. “dL-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate” (synthetic Vitamin E) comes from petrochemicals. Meanwhile, “d-Alpha Tocopherol” (natural Vitamin E) is made from the natural nutrients of plant oils.
  • Perfect to help keep our unprocessed tallow butter shelf-stable longer by dramatically slowing oxidation, rancidity, and UV damage. Unless you want your tallow to have an expiration date of 3-6 months from manufacture date, this ingredient is crucial.
  • Wonderful for haircare. Vitamin E is an invaluable asset for skin and scalp moisturizers, as it speeds healing and increases moisture-retention for next-level youthfulness. Vitamin E has also been scientifically shown to prevent the breakdown of collagen, which collagen loss in the scalp may result in hair loss as we age.

Most consumers would say this product has no scent detectable at all or that any scent detected is only due to the nature of the ingredients.

NO SCENT OF ANY KIND WAS ADDED AS AN INGREDIENT TO THIS PRODUCT.

This product was made in our one and only facility where we manufacture all of our products (scented and unscented). Atmospheric scent may or may not transfer to a detectable level over to any unscented product.

We use exclusively unscented molds for making unscented products, these are even stored in separate containers to help reduce atmospheric scent transfer.

We thoroughly clean all manufacturing tools and surfaces between each use and keep our unscented products completely separate from our scented products (not touching).

Please keep in mind that our mailer boxes, tissue papers, cards, and peanuts have also been sitting in our same small business facility where we make scented products.

If any atmospheric scent is detected by sensitive buyers, we recommend to let the unscented product sit out (for a few days to a few weeks) in a dry atmosphere devoid of any scent with good air flow to allow any atmospheric smells to dissipate. Usually after the first use, any detectable atmospheric smell transfers will dissipate.

Use as a weekly hair treatment on the entire hair and scalp or just on the ends: apply heavy layer and wrap hair in towel – let sit for 30 minutes to 1 hour and then wash out. Style as usual.

Use as a daily or weekly leave-in treatment on the tips of the hair: apply lightly to ends of hair – brush through and scrunch in hair. Style as usual. If this is too heavy for your hair type for a leave-in product, then use it as a treatment described above before washing out. If you are looking for a light leave-in moisturizer for styling, try our conditioners or conditioning spray.

This is for ALL products: To our current knowledge, we use all ingredients within the FDA (United States Food & Drug Administration) regulations. The safety factor of using any product depends on each individual’s medical condition(s) and sensitivities. Without consulting your medical practitioner prior to use, all consumers assume responsibility for any risks or health hazards from using a product for the manufacturer’s intended purposes. We never recommend allowing a product to be used outside of its intended purposes (i.e. ingesting a product created for external purposes only). We are not licensed healthcare providers: we cannot share medical advice or medically approve a product for any individual’s condition. We can only offer sales advice and we always advise a physician’s pre-approval before using any product.

All Perma-Earth products are only to be used as suggested or implied by their listing descriptions and informational tabs. It is the sole responsibility of the consumer to educate themselves on every product’s ingredients and proper usage before purchase and to seek medical advice from their healthcare provider before use.

If pregnant, nursing, planning to become pregnant, or will use a product on any dependent, please consult with your licensed healthcare provider before using any products. Even in these cases, we still advise a consultation with your personal healthcare provider before using any product on yourself or a dependent. Again, we are not responsible for individual reactions due to a medical condition, allergy, or special sensitivity. We advise everyone to use precaution with trying a product on themselves or a dependent.

TRANSPARENCY

Please note that at Perma-Earth LLC, we pride ourselves on being fully transparent with all of our ingredients, unlike many companies that hide other ingredients under one name or do not disclose the full ingredients list. All ingredients used in the amounts regulated by the INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) are clearly listed in every product’s online electronic listing descriptions and tabs via our ecommerce website at perma-earth.com (which you are viewing now). Consumers take the full risk of using the products as-intended by seller (whether suggested or implied) upon purchase.

TESTING

Furthermore, Perma-Earth LLC extensively tests their products in-house on their own limited personnel with their acknowledged consent. We do our absolute best to comply with the most up-to-date safety and usage requirements of each ingredient for the specific purposes of use or benefits intended from use. We cannot fully guarantee that especially sensitive allergic conditions such as to egg or dairy or gluten or latex are not cross-contaminated at a microscopic level. Please keep in mind that the epidermal system is not the same as the digestive system – many digestive allergens such as lactose or gluten intolerance only affects the internal digestive system only if and when ingested – please see your doctor for clarifications with your specific needs before purchase or use. If one has any known topical allergies/sensitivities to any of a product’s stated ingredients, we advise NOT to purchase or use that product.

UNIQUE REACTIONS

As stated prior, Perma-Earth takes all possible measures to pre-test every product on our own staff members and family members before offering a product for sale. Personal dissatisfactions or unique reactions experienced by consumers or their dependents are not the fault of the manufacturer (Perma-Earth LLC), as this is the consumer’s risk of responsibility to educate themselves on their unique sensitivities and to contact the company with any further questions.

For instance, if one has a rare reaction to a preservative, oil, or fragrance – this is a consumer’s sole risk of using the product being pre-informed of the product’s ingredients or description of use prior to purchase. One must also take into consideration the “inferred” use of an ingredient in another product that they have previously deemed safe for use… For instance, if one has no reaction to a “grapefruit scented with essential oils” product and yet has a reaction to an “grapefruit essential oil scented” product, that does not mean that only true grapefruit essential oil was used in the prior product, nor does this guarantee that one will not have a reaction to another grapefruit scented product, as everyone uses different ratios and sources. If one discovers a sensitivity to one of our ingredients, we suggest seeking medical advice and to contact us with as much detail as possible, including clear photographs for us to record and log. Please see our shop policies for further information of disclaimers and directions.

If any consumer has a unique sensitivity or reaction from using our products as intended (whether suggested or implied), please contact us for our records so that we may re-assess safety procedures and also consider changing the formulation if it does not impede with the original intent and purpose of the formula, or discontinue a product entirely. We record ALL reports of sensitivities and reactions for logging and review by the company periodically or on an as-needed basis to assess proper compensations and/or necessary changes to insure the safety and trust of our customers to the best of our abilities.

I need to preface this by saying, I am at the end of my bottle, but I have the formula that did not include the squalane, so I’m not sure how helpful this will be.. that being said… I really like this oil for so many things! You do need to shake it up when you’re going to use it… and I do prefer to put some in a dropper bottle, it’s easier for me to use that way. But I love it for oil treatments, or even just adding a couple drops to the ends of my hair or the top to keep the fly aways down… it is really easy for me to go overboard because I just love putting oils in my hair.. but it is just so good. It smells really mild, a little bit nutty. I have added some EO to my hand and mixed it in before putting it in my hair… but mostly I have just used it plain. I really like it and look forward to trying the new formula and seeing how they differ! APPROVED

    Too thick for me

    Melissa Dixon

This hair oil was much too thick for me. The ingredients are amazing and I didn’t understand why it wasn’t working for me, I wanted it to. After doing some research, I found out that I have low porosity hair and water/oil/creams don’t penetrate my hair shaft very easily and instead sit on top of of the hair. This oil took several washes to wash out. Just not the right type of oil for my hair I guess.

I’m going to try it on my daughter’s hair, which is completely different than mine and see how it works for her.

Dear Melissa, we are sorry to hear that this hair oil does not work for you. We use very light oils as the base of this formula, so it sounds like your hair would not do well with most oils. The only straight oil I may recommend you try is argan, Abyssinian, or jojoba by themselves as these are the lightest oils I have knowledge of, even so with your hair type it may still be way too much for you. I would recommend instead using our conditioners to help manage and moisturize your hair and scalp issues.

    Great deep conditioning oil

    brit5495

I love that this oil is unscented and has clean ingredients. It is a heavier oil, so I only use it the night before I wash my thick and wavy hair. It helps my hair retain moisture and have less frizz after showering! Highly recommend!

    Really good!

    Naomi White

This is really good for what it is. I have hair that’s damaged from chemical treatments, and this helped moisturize it. Oftentimes I would use only this and nothing else as a styling product! I have curly hair, though, and for my hair it tends to be very heavy, so sometimes it would be “too much” in that way, but I acknowledge that this could very well be just how my hair is. Clearly the product is high quality! I recommend 🙂

Hi Naomi, thank you for your feedback. If the deeply moisturizing hair oil is too heavy for your hair type as a styling product, you may use our conditioners for a leave-in styling product like you may be wanting that will be much lighter. Leave in some of our regular conditioner without rinsing it all out. I don’t recommend the hair oil as a styling product if it is not for your hair type, for most hair types it is can be a treatment before washing out, that was it’s main intent and design. But there are some hair types that truly benefit from it as a leave-in styling product.

This oil leaves my hair so soft and hydrated. I use it as a leave-in conditioner, applying 2 pumps to my dry hair, then letting it set for 30 minutes. Today I put on a hat after applying the oil and went for a 3 mile run, then washed as usual with perma-earth shampoo bar and now my hair is so soft and smooth. I use it about once a week.

I’m in love. I’ve got very fine hair. I’ve been using this product for a few days and love it. I put a very small amount at the tips of my hair after shower. It makes the ends look healthier without the oily look and feel!!I only air dry my hair and using the oil makes my hair look more hydrated instead of trim me. Very clean smell, I’m going to do a full 30min-1hr mask this weekend with it. Very excited.
